Spain are getting battered again 838 in last 24hrs




GP: PPE quality not good and lockdown will probably continue until June

GP Dr Richard van Mellaerts tells Sky News the quality of PPE being provided to NHS staff is not as good as other countries. He said often staff are just being given a surgical mask, plastic apron and plastic gloves.

He also said he expects the lockdown to continue until at the end of May and possibly early June, agreeing with government adviser Professor Neil Ferguson

I posted a tin foil hat gif and he sent me a voice note telling me I was a **** (fair enough) but to open my eyes and do some research. I went to reply and found I was blocked on every available device. Thank fuck for that.

I'm still concerned by those figures for ventilators. NYC, for example is looking at securing 30,000. I've read we might hear more about this tomorrow. I hope so, because 8k now and 8k in the future seems like a tiny figure. I noticed Gove took the opportunity to name drop British firms - whilst it's great to be able to affect the supply from within our own borders there's no way ideology or political posture should allow this to be a priority over meeting the need to secure enough equipment as soon as possible to save as many lives as possible.

I did my food shop at the Co-op an hour ago. Thanked all the staff I saw for doing a great job.

Been said before but we owe a debt of gratitude to all those keeping essential services going.

What a contrast to those superannuated twats with nothing better to do than moan from the comfort of their armchairs.

Either that or he has perhaps indulged in too much of the backstage offerings that can sometimes go along with club nights?
 
The press conference just now was preparing us for a minimum period of distancing until June.
This is going on for months after that.

last time I looked there was a big wet bit in between us and Brittany Ferries and P&O have shut down their passenger services.
 
I have to say I have little sympathy for people who have travelled abroad in recent weeks and who are now demanding the UK government repatriate them. Some woman just been on BBC News moaning about being stuck in India but she is on a course and she only travelled earlier this month. Did she not think to postpone this course and that it would be wiser not to attend it?

As for people that have started cruises after the Diamond Princess heavily publicised debacle....

Sounds a long way off but it's only 12 weeks or so. Boredom is setting in already. Realise what a waste of money sky and Netflix is. Fuck all worth watching. DIY stores shut so can't do any decorating. Last resort talk to the wife, apparently she's quite nice
 
The Chinese figures are laughably bogus. 3,300 deaths out of a population almost 30 times that of Spain and deaths of around a third of Spain’s.
