Signed up as an NHS volunteer 10 minutes after hearing the request for them on Tuesday.

Just had an email from them saying they cannot verify my identity.

I uploaded a perfect scan of my passport. I am of course on the Electoral Roll. Paying mortgage on house I've lived in for 15 years. I'm on Companies House website as a director. Served 25 years in the Armed Forces.

if they can't verify my identity then there's going to be lots of others they can't too!

I'm really disappointed tbh. Wanted to chip in & do my bit :(

Just been for a whatsapp 'pint' with 2 friends who are anything but thick, they're expecting we'll be playing golf by August.

Now they could be right but I don't think we'll be putting our good shoes on until next spring at the earliest.

Sorry getting mixed up lol, they had me taking all kinds of antibiotics and steroids for a so called chest infection that I couldn't seem to shake, then said they thought it was copd and gave me the ellipta inhaler to go with the regular blue one which seems to have done the trick to a certain extent or it could be the fact I've quit smoking 3 weeks ago.

Flixotide is the orange/brown can be an inhaler or a nasal spray

It is a preventer similar to beconase which I use

It's yet another fuckwit article from a supposed intelligent person. A bloody professor once again proving the complete lack of correlation between intelligence and common sense.

For all his reasoned argument, the utter plank failed to consider that flu doesn't completely overwhelm national health services, have us building makeshift hospitals to cater for thousands, make pleas on national television for anyone and everyone to make ventilators that we will buy at any price.

Perhaps if he'd engaged his common sense brain for 2 seconds in the first place, he would not have written the embarrassing article.

Got a couple of friends working in the same hospital. Described wards as being eerie as no visitors etc. Doesn't sound like they are overwhelmed, though one's ward was only converted last week so may be populated once the others are full.

FaceTimed my younger brother yesterday, who is a consultant at Preston Royal. Says it’s quiet at the moment, but they’re expecting a tsunami in the next 14 days. Thinks the NHS will most likely cope overall, but he’s heard some horror stories coming out of London.

Just trying to give a balanced view in the same way you want people to think the world is coming to an end. Clearly its not like flu as even with everyone staying in it will kill as many. The virus itself is comparible as explained by the expert in the article, who knows more than me or you. The issue being is it is highly contagious and no one has any immunity to it.

He is a pathologist,there are many experts in infectious diseases to read,your stance has been blown out of the water weeks ago

Well done on quiting smoking,that is brilliant,everyone could do with doing that with a respiratory illness sweeping the world,i hope to not be on the inhalers for long,i am very familiar with them from my past working life
