That is awful honey,you can't go on like that what have they advised you to do?I never got a letter. In the end I had to email my IBD nurse and copy my boss in. I unfortunately had to attach some pretty vulgar pictures of what is coming out of me. The IBD nurse confirmed that I was in the most vulnerable group, so my boss at least had some confirmation. The nurse also stated that my gp should have given me a letter.
I then rang my GP and asked what was going on. He said that I was in the most vulnerable group but our practice was not sending out letters as they did not have enough support staff to do it. Instead he has given me a sick note for 3 months. Not everyone is getting a letter.
More worrying for me is the fact I am losing quite a bit of blood. Under normal circumstances I would go into hospital and go on I/V steroids until it was under control and then come out on quite a high dose of Prednisone. I don't really want to go anywhere near a hospital and I really don't want to suppress my immune system with more steroids.
I am stuck between a rock and a hard place at the minute.
