Yeah bit this clusterfuck arises from government INACTION which is something entirely different

I do 100% agree preventative measures could have been made better

but i suspect they did have to look at the economic impact , plan army/police mobilisation and take advice from scientist moduling and health experts on this - it’s not Boris making the decisions it’s a whole range of people working on this.

it’s easy to criticise the government but you also have to be rational, we just don’t know how much behind the scenes work goes on.

Meanwhile over in Sweden, bars, clubs and venues all still open and they’re going about as if nothings happening despite thousands of cases! Madness.

we may have acted late but the last couple of weeks have looked reassuring - time will tell. Main priority for now is not pointing fingers - but doing all we can to slow the spread of this virus.

Signed up as an NHS volunteer 10 minutes after hearing the request for them on Tuesday.

Just had an email from them saying they cannot verify my identity.

I uploaded a perfect scan of my passport. I am of course on the Electoral Roll. Paying mortgage on house I've lived in for 15 years. I'm on Companies House website as a director. Served 25 years in the Armed Forces.

if they can't verify my identity then there's going to be lots of others they can't too!

I'm really disappointed tbh. Wanted to chip in & do my bit :(

My GP told me to go to hospital. Its really not the time to be on immunosuppressents and be in hospital. What a time to have a flare up.

If I start going dizzy and seeing stars then I will get myself to hospital. Until then I am going to grind it out at home.

Bang on, you're getting the idea. In that case, I and others would indeed be likely to slag them off, frustrated as we are by the failure to meet the urgent requirements for PPE and Ventilators so doctors can treat people and not die themselves.

As such, any offer made to us - or other members of the general public - of Lunar Package Tours, or Quality Desk/Wall based Timekeeping equpment... or personalilsed Personalised Birthday Cards from Boris, vouchers entitling over 45s who fill in their own tax return to a free Parker Pen (some time late in July) ....all would likely be recieved similarly, generating nothing more than further disdain and outright ingratitude in members of the public very upset at the percieved failure of the Govt to provide urgently required, neccessary and life saving equipment for those working at the front line, despite having been at it for nearly a month now.

It probably is true. I saw a post last week from someone on my Facebook that had been away travelling. They'd had their temperature taken at the airport before their flight back and on the connecting flights but when they landed at Manchester airport there were no checks, no staff were wearing any preventative gear and there weren't even any hand sanitizers available...

Another great article here, more balanced than the sensationalist media in this country are being. I guess no one wants to read reasoned educated views, just that dogs and cats can also die of it and other ridiculous scare stories.

There was a Russian doctor going to church service last night on BBC news. Said she can't catch it in a holy place, as crazy as that article is.

I said last night belief is fine and may help people in times like this but belief to this extent is dangerous and turns rational people into lunatics.

There are a few of us on here with IBD and each will testify that it is about managing the situation. I just need to grind this one out for the next few weeks.
