imo, for every report of over-zealous policing, there will be 999 cases not reported/publicised. Going through shopping bags and deciding what is or is not an "essential" purchase ffs, whilst at the same time packed trams and tube carriages is deemed "acceptable"....jobsworth heaven. The reluctance to recommend masks ? Who and why is behind this needs answering...
This bollocks of buying only essentials is not worth all the problems for the police. If a shop is open then the Government must have decided what it can sell.Is selling gardening tools, garden furniture etc from a supermarket necessary ? NO ?? Then why the fuck are supermarkets allowed to sell them ? Pisses me off when I hear of coppers complaining that alcohol is not regarded as necessary. If not then why are off licenses open you load of fuckwits.

Read what I said. SAGE -> PHE -> NHS
The government is not disagreeing with SAGE advice.
I did. What you originally said was. That’s PHE and NHS bureaucracy for you.
And ‘advice’ is just that.
SAGE Membership
The membership of SAGE depends on the nature of the emergency but it typically includes leading experts from within government and leading specialists from the fields of academia and industry.

The group typically is chaired by the Government Chief Scientific Adviser. That’s Sir Patrick Vallance, who doesn’t work for either PHE or the NHS.

You never came back to me the other day with the article showing it was the NHS management to blame for why we're not wearing masks. Have you found it yet?
Since Google removed the date range from search criteria it's difficult to find anything you want to Hunt down but from 2 days ago
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/face-masks-asking-coronavirus/
"It is a matter of orthodoxy at the UK Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) that surgical facemasks are a no-no as far as the public are concerned. Officials have long taken the view that paper masks do not protect against viruses and do not hold emergency stocks of them."
The rest of the article then goes on to suggest that the wrong question is being asked. So yes it is the department of Health but it is the bureaucracy that hold this opinion.

But not been implemented by plod .
They’ve been turning people back driving for a walk and sending drones up in Derbyshire to intimidate them.
I got turned away from a local park at the start of this in my car but by the end of the first day of shutting up the car park, they'd reopened it as they'd been given the wrong guidance. They just want people to be sensible (I've walked the dog everywhere since myself). That said, last weekend (I think) they were called out as the car park was full, they turfed everyone out that were sunbathing and having a family day out.

Really? bloody hell didn’t know that about Netherlands. There’s already been 3,459 deaths and there’s only 17.4m of them.

Although it is densely populated!

Oddly enough, I suspect that when it's all over, many of the deaths in the Netherlands will have been in the less densely populated areas south of the rivers.

So not NHS orthodoxy, the orthodoxy of the department of government that oversee them?

I thought it would be strange that the NHS would be either calling the shots or giving out advice given the institution of PHE.

Of all the bodies to blame for the facemask debacle, the NHS would be the last on my list.

Quote-shit loads of fruit pickers being flown in to work the fields and were on another 3 week locakdown .... heard some farmer on the news saying its got to be done to feed the british public ... keelings in ireland chartering ryanair planes to fly workers in from bulgaria and flight due in from romania to ema to work the fields in lincs .... none of the c**ts being tested ... imo anyone flying anywhere in the future needs to be tested as a requirement to fly and have some sort of card attached to your passport ... any record of any vacinations also attached to passport worldwide travel needs looking at and we need to sort out what c--ts are coming in n out of the uk .....
Just to clarify, are these people cunts because they aren't British or are they only cunts if they have the virus? Arguably all key workers should be tested and if they have covid then they should be isolating. In an ideal world where we had an infinite number of tests, I'm sure that would happen but I'm not sure why key workers should be treated differently if they happen to have come from Romania.
