See the thing is that I know where you're going with this. If you think I'm here to slate one government and blindly praise another then you've got the wrong idea. This isn't a competition. I don't sit firmly on one side and agree with everything one party does while disagreeing with everything another does.

This has been a shambles, from top to bottom. The last thing they deserve is praise...but you do as you do!
So not many then ;)

I think that is true of most countries in the Western world to be honest. Very few were prepared for it, One or two are doing quite well so far but that can soon change when they start to relax their restrictions.

I know as of a couple of weeks ago it was more per capita than what was being managed down south, exact figures I can't recall. Even at that, I'm not sure how much power Holyrood has in this or if it's a process which must run through WM...so I'd be speaking out of turn even if I was to label my criticism in the direction of sturgeon.

I agree SilverFox2 they shielding sections of the community is problematic. Vulnerable people can isolate to a extent but they are, for example, often visited by carers, in the case of many frail and older people etc.
So as time goes on and more and more people are infected are the vulnerable of all ages more at risk, what advice is it for the elderly?

As an older person should I be more concerned for the future and ignore the opportunity to soften my lockdown and further exclude my family?

Google maps saying last weekend visits to parks were only 10% below normal times ,at the start of lockdown it was 50%,nice weather and out they come,we are not on a strict lockdown, apple saying the weather has made a big difference, raining and people are staying in,could have done with virus at the start of winter really

HSJ understands that up to 50,000 of the tests that will be reported as having taken place on 30 April will actually represent the mailing or the agreeing to mail a home testing kit

It is a sham,i am surprised anyone is taken in

Its on a par with a pair of gloves counting as 2 items of PPE :-)

Bloody hell, I thought you were going to criticise Saint Nicola for a minute then. It’s fine, I understand criticism of the government is not currently a devolved issue ;)

So where do the responsibilities for the preparation, maintenance and governance of the UK Pandemic plan lie?
The trick in central and local government is to blur responsibilities between several bodies/layers. That way nobody can be held accountable.

If you fcuk up and are unable to resist the baying for blood, either:

a) find some minion to blame and sack the cnut, or
b) tender resignation under a compromise agreement, collecting a handsome severance payment and pre-written glowing reference in the process, or
c) apply for ill-health early retirement at astronomical cost to the taxpayer.

I thought the Government had written out to older and vulnerable people with its advice, as well
as local GPs, giving the official advice?

In an update to its guidance, the WHO warned there was "no evidence that people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies are protected from a second infection,"People who assume that they are immune to a second infection because they have received a positive test result may ignore public health advice," the WHO warned,"The use of such certificates may therefore increase the risks of continued transmission
