As I've said before, I need cataract operations on both eyes. The first one was due 1st April, and was cancelled the week before.
I phoned last week, but they can't give me a date yet. The only good news is that I'm at the top of the list!

Lol, yeah that definitely summarises people like Mike Ashley. There definitely won't be tons of bosses who will do the absolute bare minimum they are forced to, while trying to do even less than that. They will definitely all care about those employees they never previously a gave a shit about while they exploited them in every way they could get away with.

For the record, I've been working this whole time with a boss who is a good guy so we've been doing everything we can, but is naïve beyond belief to think everyone will be like that. If that was the case then we wouldn't need employment laws or guidelines for anything, because apparently companies are all ran by "intelligent people who understand what is needed". It's not being argumentative, it's common sense that you release the guidelines on how to open your business safely before you let people open their business.

But you have been happy with working without seeing an6 guidelines but now you want them. The advice has been pretty clear all along but people have chosen to accept some bits they like and ignore bits they don’t.

Manufacturing will not start running by just getting people back, the stores are jam packed with parts etc.
Until the chain is freed up at the consumer end then you can't have people on furlough coming back and the company having to pay wages, all I can see is redundancy on a massive scale.
Really felt it was all arse backwards this weekend with Wales, Scotland and N.Ireland having their statements before the PM, Boris should lead and others can tweak to suit themselves should have been the way.

My union has teamed up with two other unions and their last message told us that unless the government can ensure their conditions for returning to work can be met, that we should not return to work.

Absolutely right. The economy needs to get going again but we need to let employers know that the health and well-being of staff should not be put at risk.
