There is a lot of confusion in that article. Dissemindted Intravascular Coagulation (DIC) is not a pulmonary embolism (a big clot in an important place).
DIC predominantly makes you bleed to death from micro clots all over the place and can complicate any cause of sepsis, and sepsis is what most Covid-19 patients are dying from.
Big clots are a real problem for Covid-19 so anti collagulants ARE being used but you can't use too much to quickly - especially with people who are frail.

Pretty good thread here on rebuttals against the argument for masks. I think we're at the point now where we should even be encouraging people to make their own cotton masks or cover their faces however they can. Be honest, explain that medical grade masks aren't needed and to leave them for care-workers. Explain that cotton masks can be very effective if everyone uses them etc.

I think its going to be a while, but I think we will get there and I am sure vaccines and treatments will be found sooner than would be normally considered reasonable. Will the numpty fraternity cause set backs that cost lives? I would'nt bet against it but live in hope enough will use their brains to avoid anything too catastrophic.

June would have been my preference to start easing it all but I think its very clear that the lock down was beginning to break down and frankly the government and the Police had not the first idea or inclination to enforce it consistently or sensibly. Not sure Boris had much choice last night.

Agree, you could sense "slippage" - more traffic, more people out in the parks, shops busier and just a general sense that people were dipping their toe in the waters so to speak. I think part of the reason some countries have been more successful is their general psyche - tell the South Koreans to socially distance and you can bet they'll have personal infra-red beams attached to their belts in seconds. I think that's part of the reason Italy struggled so much - can't imagine your average Neapolitan taking too kindly to authority!
The alternative to what we've had could (and possibly should) have been much more draconian. But would it have lasted as long as the "lockdown" we've had? Imponderables. Let's hope that vaccine is found and that it cracks this thing completely.

Are you posting from a work machine ? If so it might be their firewall that is preventing it.

In the Czech republic you're not allowed out without a face mask. The government issued patterns and instructions on how to make cloth ones in the absence of professional ones, for anyone who could make them to be able to, it became a cottage industry there.

Mrs Prague's mother sent us 4 she'd made.

Fortunately Mrs Prague also has suppliers at work in China who have sent us some basic ones too.

We haven't been out without wearing a mask albeit we've only been out to go shopping.

To be honest, this falls firmly into the "Well no shit Sherlock" category of scientific analysis. Whilst it is refreshing to see the science to back this up, it's been plainly obvious to anyone with an ounce of common sense that coughing into a mask is going to have a bloody site lower chance of infecting someone nearby than coughing in their face. I mean seriously, how did we EVER get into a situation where anyone is debating this? The governments persistence in saying there is no benefit from mask-wearing, is an absolute travesty. And tragedy for that matter.

But 1 important detail was missing IMO:

not only coughing and sneezing is producing droplets/fine aerosol,
but also laughing, singing and shouting.

"With regard to s.44 of the Employment Rights Act, What measures do you have in place, following government guidance, to avert the serious and imminent danger from working in close proximity to others? What cleaning and disinfecting of the workplace is being done?" Now I will be very surprised if the 50 page document has advice like that....
