The BBC proffered Danish schools handling of the issue as a model of how kids might go back. The positivity of the Danish teacher was a marked contrast to the wobbly dithering UK headteacher who showed zero leadership.

And yet kids barely appear in contact tracing studies the world over.

Kids certainly aren't super spreaders as they are in flu epidemics.

A really dangerous opinion is the one that describes anyone else's opinion as dangerous just because it differs from their own.

Maybe dangerous was the wrong word, but we’re starting to see teachers being vilified more and more now. For someone to suggest that they’re only arsed about their own safety, and not that of the children they look after, is not on.

Amazing how other countries can return kids to school for their education and some have not shut down at all but it’s impossible in the U.K.

Amazing how other countries managed to avoid 60,000 dead people, but that was impossible in the UK. Amazing how other countries are managing to keep their infection rates to a few hundred per day (if that, in some cases) whilst we're still around 3,500-4,000 and decreasing slower than most. You see why there's a problem with us opening schools at this stage and why it's not right to compare what others are doing now without also comparing what they have done before and working out how they've actually reached the point which they're at?

well I think a slow return to school is a good thing for children but the teachers seemingly don’t

We can’t stay alive without hospitals and food shops being open. We can stay alive without schools being open, they aren’t essential to the immediate short term existence of humans.

Who has done any in-depth and lasting contact tracing and is every country experiencing this the same ?,i have just posted the WHO opinion on it

What is the point in the kids going back for 7 weeks and of that 7 weeks probably only for half of it as they will split the weeks between the kids. Stay off until August and bring the start of the year forward, that gives us another 10 weeks to sort stuff out. Track and trace etc.

And on Monday they only wanted to open a few classes in primary schools in three weeks time . (Now 2 and a half)

We are a few days into a !ifting some of some restrictions,we have to go at our pace,it is not as if schools havent organised work for parents and kids,,as I say we are behind,yelling but other countries have done it is very naive,this is a pandemic not a game
