Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

What have other countries got to do with ours? We are all at different stages and carried out different protocols. Just because another country has children going back to school, does not mean it is safe to do so here.
It’s the right time to start phasing it in. Many kids are suffering at home. With the right planning it should not be a problem

Yep - Tammy Abraham also rightly voicing concerns over potentially passing it on to family members:

Not that it should matter in the slightest, but the whole “it’s only because you don’t want to get relegated” nonsense can’t be levelled at him...

Nor at Danny Rose or Troy Deeney, for that matter. But the fact that they're black, and that, for reasons that the virologists are mystified by, this has hit black people harder than white, might be a consideration for them.

Please pass your expertise and knowledge on to the teaching unions and the BMA who think it is too soon without any evidence that it is safe.

To get back on track
The noose tightens, the SPL will be ended on Monday and Celtic announced as champions.

will there be the right planning though? I know they are trying to plan but will they have enough space and staff.

they’ve looked after vulnerable children during the pandemic anyway.

There is one space in the football league with 91 clubs so the top team in the GM Vauxhall can be promoted still, and their season ended weeks ago.

The only money league 2 will get now is if they get it from Sky for the play-offs and. 1,400 players out of contract in league 1 and 2 and very few being offered new deals and all clubs in financial difficulty so they need a season ending boost.
Bloody hell Corky - GM Vauxhall showing your age there lad. Last season they sponsored was in the late 90s :)

Fuck me the teaching unions, those cvnts arent interested in children or education all they care about is their members which I suppose is their function but nevertheless their hypocrisy grates. They even opposed teaching kids online as it might be too stressful for the teachers.

What is safe ? 100% risk free ? Of course it isn’t safe, it’s never gonna be safe until a vaccine is found so we need to gradually move towards normality step by step which is exactly what’s proposed for schools. The BMA quite rightly only speak on medical grounds and it’s easy for them to come out and state the blindingly obvious but in the real world there’s a balancing act that a govt has to perform, weighing up a whole range of factors to determine the best course of action for society as a whole.
You’re spouting shit you don’t know anything about for attention so why not just have another drink and stop talking shit

Thought the notion of cardboard cutout fans was a piss take, but just seen them on BBC breakfast in Germany. One was a friggin dog. I really hope the FA think, we cannot do that, we would be more of a laughing stock than we are already.

they'd teach at home if their wages were threatened

If they go the route of PPG I saw a table that said Liverpool would finish on 107, now do these stand as records or not, obviously don’t want them to be classed as centurions and as far as I’m concerned they never will be.
