Summer Transfers

Not replacing kompany was a massive mistake as we all know and if we’re replacing Sané and silva with a load of kids , I can’t help but think we are going to go massively backwards next season but in pep we trust !

Pep only wants players with the quality to be a starter or youngsters with elite talent to be a part of his team.

For David:
Aouar is experienced but will have to adapt first.
Foden is adapted but has little experience.

Most feeder clubs or top clubs would have been happy with only Foden or Aouar and then probably sign a squad player.

For Sane:
Braaf(18) is extremely talented but inconsistent
Rogers(18) doesn't affect games much, but Pep really loves his physical(1.91m tall) & technical profile very very much
Amad Traoré(18) Left-footed, agile in tight spaces, fast in open spaces
Mohamed Ihattaren(18) Left-footed, 1500+ min of experience. Has the ability to play the Sané role perfectly (minus the searing pace)

That is 4 talented youngersters to replace the productivity of 1 starting player leaving.

In most other top clubs or Feeder clubs, they would be happy to get their hands on a single wonderkid replace their departing starting player.

They are always risks when replacing a starting player with a younger one, but strength in numbers helps mitigate that.

agree with silva Mate , it’s a great chance for foden , plus Aouar and Bernado can play there . Not sure any of them names are Gona make us better for the replacement of sane. It’s like when kompany went Garcia Was never trusted to play there so cant see pep having much trust in them kids replacing sane. We massively need a centre back as this season proved , we have no problem spending 50m on full backs so we should just splash whatever is needed to get a top quality centre back next to Laporte.

Think the risk would be at cb, we have plenty in midfield plus Aouar, to replace Dave,Foden would be the only kid. Sane hardly played over the last two seasons,so replacing him with a couple of kids to support Aguero Jesus Mahrez,Sterling is no biggie, especially if we improve our width from fullbacks / wingbacks..
C.B not so sure myself and relying on Laporte as our only senior specialist cb, would be a risk, that said I know nothing about Bastoni and if we are going more 3 at the back Walker , Rodri could slot in, but would prefer an experienced centre back myself.

Nowt wrong with putting your thoughts out there, on goalkeeping i would not put Steffen in there, he had a great season and understands that playing is better than being a non player in a winning team, in short if he stays he will put in a transfer request, if he goes on loan we can see if he outpaces Ederson, if not his price will still go up and the young Irish lad who is the most talented will be just that bit closer. Muric should be our back up he is also club trained and competent

I can see Muric getting another loan tbh, the poor lad's had a dreadful time at Forest but genuinely wouldn't mind him coming back and been given all the cup games. City obviously see something in him considering he got that bumper deal before his loan, maybe he'll just be here permanently as a backup? Steffen I agree would probably benefit from a loan spell - maybe to somewhere like Ajax if they sell Onana? And aye there's a lot of hype around Bazunu (the young Irish kid) and even Louie Moulden who had a stellar year in 18/19 in the u18s I believe. But you're right whoever it is has to outpace Ederson and well, that doesn't look likely by anyone right now.

Bastoni(21), Laporte(26), Fernandinho(35)

Rodri And Kyle Walker are CB back ups too.

We are not in for havertz(we view him as a false 9 but our targets are a better fit for us than him) and Gundogan will be sold this summer.

That's really not a strong backline at all and doesn't add up considering the profile of players Pep has brought in at CB. Laporte and Stones were young yes but they weren't newbies like Bastoni sort of is. We need a big presence NEXT to Laporte and Dinho isn't it at 35, Garcia is very promising but isn't it yet and Bastoni is a left footer with relatively few minutes. There's a reason we're linked mostly with bigger name starters like Skriniar and Upamecano - the club are not going to put another inexperienced defender next to Laporte, maybe below him but certainly not next.

Rodri certainly isn't going to be a reliable starting CB choice and neither is Walker - otherwise Pep would've used him there plenty of times. He prefers Walker at RB and so does Walker.

For the CB situation, it was just a case of us bieng victim of Murphy's Law at the wrong time.

Garcia or Bellis were not ready to replace Kompany in the summer. If Laporte had not missed the whole season, we would not have been talking about "we didn't replace Kompany"

Because if it was Otamendi or stones that Had been injured instead of Laporte, I'm sure we would be fine. What we missed more than anything was Laporte at LCB

With a proper Laporte back up I would feel much better than another Big name right footed CB.

In the previous two season
how many games did we play without Laporte?
How many did we play without Kompany?

I completely agree, a left footed left sided centre back is far more important to cover Laporte than another right sided centre back. We have Stones, Fernandinho, Garcia and Adaradiayo to compete for that position.

Sounds about right. We have enough players in the forward position and if 1 or 2 of the youngsters show promise they could push for a spot. Probably play a cup game or 2. Foden and Aouar can both play on the left with Dave and Leroy leaving.
CB is probably the hardest position and I think we'll be very careful and not just buy anyone. There are very few top CB's on the market that could slot straight into our system. If we can't get them for whatever reason we probably go for a young player, try to have them learn and develop and keep the CB's options we have at the moment.

Why is your only rebuttal "This is football Manager?" No my friend, open your eyes and look, this is the Transfer market.

3 options for each Position. This is what Josep Guardiola Wants.

Can you take a guess as to how this goal can be realistically accomplished? Hint: Academy & investment in younger players

They didn't extend Fernandinho's Contract just for him to begin the season a Squad Player.

Nor did they decide to extend it at the end of January, just because, when the original plan at the start of season was to wait until March/April.

There is a reason we are only linked with an 18 and 20 year old Right-Footed CB.

Pep trust Dinho as a starter 100%

AAAAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAA

listen to yourself pal... you never have known anything or never will know anything to do with this football clubs transfers hahaaa. Sort yourself out.
