Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

Yeah but we didn’t vote the fucker in, and start calling him the new Mercer, did we?

I’ve only ever written one complaint letter in my life and that was to Colin Barlow when we appointed Ball. Every word I predicted came true as well.

Well - that is me convinced

You are so knowledgeable - from now on I will follow your every lead

Are you quite sure about that? The headline you quote is actually a piece by a columnist, Alex Massie, not the editorial of The Spectator itself and, thus, not its declared position. Fraser Nelson is respected as being editorially tolerant and allows writers a fair amount of discretion, a stance which has also helped broaden its readership.
The leading feature on the spectator website .

Do the fucking maths - this old Etonian clown has blood on his hands - he wants to be Churchill - Churchill has many faults but recounts some redeeming factors Johnson has none and will be judged as such. Max Hastings' biography ( which I am sure is at least half written already) will be a peach.

Best of it is, if you listen to any of these twats from the government they try to spin it like they've done a marvellous job with this pandemic, when in reality they should be up on criminal charges.

Spot on - and that is all you said - and I agreed with

I have also have commented on his issues of character - but supported him on getting Brexit done
their whole family are fame hungry. snobs of the highest order. Boris is the polar opposite to where i come from.he is however the Tory leader(god knows how)and now PM. Getting Brexit done and keeping Labour away from Downing St is worth the embarrassment he can be at times.

You will come to understand that the cost of Johnson and chums is much higher than 'embarrassment'.

Sad that you can't see it already but given what is undoubtedly to come I believe you will.

TBF you and others are missing the reality when you post stuff like this......

" Told not to"???
You're the PM for fcuks sake man!"

Every day for the last scores of years senior government officials, including PMs and SoSs have either asked or been told what lines to take on given situations or in preparation of announcements.

Nowadays SPADs are involved - it used to be Civil Servants

The problem with Johnson is that he will just bumble that fact out - he will have indeed been briefed before a presentation/briefing and told what to emphasise and also what definitely not respond to/expose.

There is nothing new here - I have heard Jack Straw - someone I consider to be quite forensic (lawyer by profession) ask for his lines to take on a subject.

Johnson is just a bumbler - is that a word?
Wow. Making a virtue out of Johnson's honesty that he doesn't know what he's doing.

I can't believe I just said "Johnson's honesty". Now I have to wonder why Cummings told him to lie about being told to do something.

No it's a sentence and one that goes nowhere near to describing what Johnson is. Him being a bumbler is the least of our concerns about him.

Agree - its part of the jolly intellectual façade he wants people to buy into. He is not a bumbler he is incompetent and unfit for the position he is in.

Bumbling implies some naivety and innocence, he is neither of those things.

This is what a great job they have done - in the 10 weeks of this pandemic the excess mortality rate is just over 60k - thats 60k people dead. In the whole 6 years of WW2 civilian deaths were 70k. Let that sink in a moment. We are likely to lose as many folk in 3 months as we did in 6 years when we were at war with the Luftwaffe bombing our towns and cities. Then look at the deaths in places like NZ and Vietnam and ask yourself just how good a job have we done.......

To put it into context that's the Etihad full and we're on the way to York Away.

All gone a bit quiet on the isn't Sweden doing well front.

Right wing countries leading the way.

Doing well relative to who? Sweden is faring better than the UK.

Excess deaths in Sweden 4750 / Covid deaths 4350 (92%)/ population 10.5M
Excess deaths in UK 58000 / Covid deaths 39000 (68%)/ population 65M

The number of healthcare worker deaths in UK is around 200, in Sweden it is 2.

Sweden is being used as a shiny object by failing right wing governments like the UK and US to distract gullible voters from their own failing, unfortunately

The UK has done appalling but Sweden's deaths per million is higher than the US and not much below the UK, Spain and Italy.

Indeed France , Spain and Germany had less fatalities today.

Add to this that Norway and Denmark are opening their borders but not to Sweden and the picture is not that rosy.

If you had high levels of infection then that would have been something great but apparently you haven't.

One good thing I imagine is that local businesses have faired better than elsewhere.
