If I could have been in attendance at any hearing in history, this would be up there, but it still would lag behind the trial of Peter Sutcliffe, the Nuremberg trials and that Jaffa Cake VAT tribunal (and possibly marginally ahead of the latter tbf)

Would have been utterly absorbing to be there, even remotely.

Love watching massive brains clashing. Those guys are on another planet.

Plus the fact that it’s about City, something that’s been central to my life for the last 44 years.

Would have been mint.

I was in the Ashton Magistrate's Court once, and a guy did a Perry Mason and defended himself, he was hilarious and even had the Magistrate's laughing.

Not exactly a clash of great minds, but relaxed me a bit as my case was up next haha.

I reckon the ken Dodd and (maybe) Lester Piggot trials could have topped the Jaffa Cakes VAT Tribunal!

If we do lose at CAS I think we should contest FFP in the Swiss courts. Even if we are unable to suspend our ban we should still fight to eradicate FFP. Surely when our suspension is up an FFP free landscape will give us the absolute freedom to demonstrate our business model as the best. And should FFP be deemed illegal would we be entitled to claim damages? Are there good reasons why we wouldn't pursue this course?

That Jaffa cake case takes the buscuit.
Edited for misspelling of buscuit!

Didn’t want them all to be criminal.

George Carmen represented Dodd. Brilliant man, but a cünt. Represented the Haçienda too btw. Know the solicitor that instructed him.

Calling @Prestwich_Blue

Ken Dodds trial was a tax fraud case if I remember rightly?

Two of his Diddy men were called as witnesses... Diddy pay and Diddy fuck

To be honest, I'm just looking forward to drawing a line under it all..

I'm sick to death of having to read about my club constantly being labelled cheats..

We took a pinch early doors, mainly due to the rules we were trying to adhere to being amended by UEFA to basically catch us out..

Our club knew what was happening but in my opinion, paid the fine with a view to being accepted into the fold..

Since then we have had to live with all the sneering, jealousy, accusations of cheating and the belittling of our achievements by all and sundry..

If we are found guilty then fair enough and we'll have to take our punishment..

It won't change my view of my club though, far from it, as I see what we did / have done was to ensure we got over the drawbridge before it slammed shut..

However, taking everything into account and listening to my club categorically deny any wrongdoing whatsoever, so much so that we have called UEFA out and have taken them to CAS, I'm convinced we are 100% innocent..

When the findings are announced and we are proved to be innocent of all charges brought against us, I just want to say a massive FCUK YOU to all the cnuts who have gone out of their way to slag us off over the years..!

We're here to stay and if the so called history clubs want to win shit they better make sure they finish in front of us because we're going nowhere..!

how smart do you have to be to not only realize biscuits go soft and cakes go hard but to action it in an argument. Were all legal experts aware of this? Who was it that cracked it?
Fucking geniuses I bet the opposition had a face like a slapped arse when that was pulled out

I was at the Jaffa Cake one, in a very junior capacity, not a lawyer by any means but was a VAT consultant and part of the team. Mostly photocopying and making tea at that stage of my career.
