Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

Boris want to be loved and will go wherever the populist vote need him. If we coordinate our efforts on the left he could beat Ted Heath as the favourite Tory PM.

But he's a franchise PM. He's subcontracting his powers to Dom and then can deny any fuck ups but claim any success as his own making.

Was Heath the one with the noncey boat?

Just stop and think about it for a second.

A couple of pages earlier @Ban-jani had complained because the Tories had done a U turn and decided to grant over a million poor kids (from families that had already been assessed and accepted as needing support) a free hot school lunch...... we were then into the semantics of Rashfords tweet and whether he was telling lies about water supplies being switched off or not.

The true issue was that the Conservative Government had in fact voted to refuse to extend funding and deny over a million kids from poor and deprived backgrounds a free lunch in the middle of a pandemic. (Working out at a subsidy of £2.14 a day over a seven day week)

I would also remind you that Iain Duncan Smith once claimed back expenses of £39 for one single breakfast.

Didn’t you know that it’s all caused by poor parenting and that anyone thinks otherwise is a Corbyn loving lefty?

I appreciate that you’ve tagged me because once again you’re missing the point entirely.

Im not complaining at the free school meals to children as a policy, I support Rashford’s campaign, I’m complaining at the fact the government are governing based on public opinion and what a footballer says.

That’s a distinction from the policy itself.

They shouldn’t be u turning because people get their backs up, they should run the country to what they think is the best way to do so and should ignore external noise, otherwise you end up with a miss match of policies and you may as well have a direct democracy.

But yeah, another straw man of me wanting to not feed kids, push that if you wish but it isn’t true.
But if they'd stuck to their mean policy, kids would go hungry, so not really much difference in outcome from not wanting to feed kids.

Somewhere I have a quote about Thatcher (I think from Willie Whitelaw) about a strong leader with the capacity to act and not to listen to faint hearts. I used to link it to something much the same said about Mussolini.

Possibly mis-leading the house again? His contempt for the office and the Parliamentary system he so wanted to give control to is simply staggering and disgraceful

Literally as soon as i heard that exchange I thought he will be wrong on that. And later on someone asked him a question about meat labeling and I thought the same on that as well (he blamed the current rules on the EU).

I'm sure this is done deliberately to get a rise out of us lefties. Happens way too often to be a cock up.

Its not the lying that should bother us - his whole life is a series of fuck ups joined together by lies - its not his blaming the EU - these are regular for him - remember the bollocks about kippers? However that was at a party conference so he can lie away - what should bother us all is the lying to Parliament that goes unchecked - the adviser in contempt of Parliament who doesn't give a fuck and the fact that all this goes unchecked and unquestioned. God knows they hoped Hoyle as a speaker would be more beneficial for them but Christ Almighty he seems to be allowing barefaced lies.

Sir Lindsey has very rarely impressed me in his tenure. Very little coming from him with regards to the continuous piss taking from Boris and his fellow ministers bypassing Parliament for Twitter or the Torygraph.

and they are continually refusing to put someone up for interview or to take questions from any news outlet that won't just lob them an easy "whats your favourite colour" type question so they can smash it over the ropes for an easy six.

The longer this all goes on the lamer the government looks - a remarkable thing to say about a government with an 80 seat majority. Johnsons ability to make such a majority look less and less is a remarkable feat.
