Watching With or Without "Crowd Noise"

Did anybody else notice a difference to the crowd noise between SKY's HD and UHD option?
The crowd noise was more like a background hiss/murmur in UHD but great in regular HD mode. I ended up watching in HD.
Probably just an early glitch or a Dolby Digital thing via UHD. Might explain why some preferred no added noise.
Also the second half sound was much better with clear City songs/chants coming through.

I swapped a few times between added crowd noise and no added noise.
The added noise felt more like a normal match and a training game without it.
Overall much better than i could have hoped for.

Not sure what the options were like in the UK or elsewhere but on Bein Sport we had the option of crowd noise being added in or not on the audio/language button.

Before kick off I told my wife I didn't want to listen with a fake crowd soundtrack and I watched the first ten minutes with the genuine audio (the odd shout and silence) and I wasn't that enamoured by the game.

I then just flicked to the "crowd noise" option and the whole experience changed and it was 100x better.

Obviously there is no replacement for real fans being at the ground but given everything that's going on and the fact that football (as much as can be) is back, it's certainly the lesser of the two evils.

Did anyone else try them both and agree or disagree?

It'll be interesting to see how 'neutral' the plastic fan noise is in the dipper derby.

Thought the crowd noise thing would be awful but honestly thought it was quite good and will use it in future, just wish you could mute Martin Tyler.

Amazon have the right idea with the option of no commentators. I’m 100% convinced it will end up filtering on to Sky et al.

The crowd noise in our game was much bettter than in the villa game. If anyone decided against it based on that i'd say give it a go against burnley

i had the crowd noise on the villa game for a bit,and there was a big ooooooooo when shef utd headed a ball about 15 yards wide, seemed more fifa20 than real football( canned laughter on 70s comedy shows), watched city without the crowd noise and didnt really notice no noise, so for me no fake crowds.

as for options here in the uk, sky has two channels one with and one without crowd noise.

The header you mentioned in the Villa game was the deal breaker for me as well, I gave it a try up to then and then realised I'd heard enough.

The Premier League and Sky already have no respect for fans, it will only get worse if they think they can be replaced with this nonsense. I won't be giving it my support.
