good point. with our build up being generally slow playing out from the back most of the time the better defenses have time to set up, and by this time our strikers are isolated in the middle surrounded by defenders.

Maybe he’s ‘happy’ to play second fiddle to Aguero because he can’t believe his luck that he’s still here - we’ve been looking at this wrong. He’s like Solsjaer, happy to be a career sub because he likes collecting medals but knows his level and if he left he’d be exposed

Gabby gets far to much stick on here it’s a joke.
his hard work and runs make lots of spaces for raz or Mahrez to get into , yes his finishing could be a little better but he’s young enough to improve.
frimino doesn’t score many for Liverpool but he’s praised for his hard work and movement, and mane and salah get all goals.
Don’t see the dippers slagging his goal out put , fickle fans sometimes on here.
slagged Mahrez to pieces on his first season , slagged dzeko non stop and then licked his arse hole clean out when he started scoring for fun for Roma.

Sergio is one of several goal scorers since he got here,if you are the main man/only striker /goal scorer like kane them he should be scoring moreI think looking at goals alone when we know it's more than that is a tad lazy.
Harry Kane's top two goalscoring season (in all comps) was in 16/17 and 17/18 where he scored 35 and 41 goals respectively. Aguero's best season was 33, and he's got a few in the very low 30's too. But never 35 and never 41.
Was Harry Kane better than Aguero in 17/18?
Erling Haaland has just scored 44 goals and he's 19 playing with worse players and had to do it moving team midseason. Does that mean he's currently better than Aguero ever was?
Jadon Sancho is on 40 goal contributions and he's 20, playing as a winger. Is he better than Aguero?
No, Aguero is and has for a long time been fucking quality. What makes him special lie beyond just goal numbers. Same for any forward.
Some guys score goals and some guys score fewer goals but do other shit. If their team has good results when they play chances are they're good.
Jesus actually scores a good amount of goals too on top of that.

He does need to work on his finishing, but half of the people saying he will never be good enough were also saying Sterling should be sold because he "couldn't kick a ball". Mostly it seems like he's overeager to score because of the pressure to perform instantly as soon as Aguero is out for a few games.
His pressing is a massive plus to our game, his build up play is on a different planet to Sergio's, the way he drops into midfield to steal the ball or bail out midfielders under pressure is unique. Now, after a few games misfiring, he's getting the goals as he starts regularly.
