Ok... Sunday Supplement barely touched on the ban despite talking about the CL. Aside from at one point when that fat Matt guy from the Express got a bit excited and tried to impose his view on it which was quickly skipped over.

I’m amazed the shows producers didn’t have a segment on it. Tells me they have looked at how jubilant the top brass of our club appear to have been this week and have made the same assessment as myself. So decided not to waste their time talking about how the club would implode and that Debruyne, Sterling and Foden would be touring the facilities of Old Trafford by August

First time I’ve felt positive about this.

The lack of media chatter about the negative consequences for us is deafening. For me that speaks volumes.

I understand that. I suspect the Civid cost cutting is a bit lame, I'm not aware of anyone else being cut loose at this stage.

Ian probably doesn't fit the profile the club are after in this new digital age, I have similar challenges within an industry which bears no resemblance to the one just ten years ago, never mind thirty or forty.
Fair enough, most of our match going fans probably don't fit the image the club wants?? And perhaps I'm letting my dislike of Ferris taint my opinion.

The interesting thing about that was the repeated use of the phrase “Monday’s decision will fire them up”, did they mean because of anger or joy at the decision? There was also a “typical for them to win it and be banned”.

It was like these “informed” journalists knew nothing of the cryptic leaks we have had.

The clubs been confident since the beginning. It's not beyond reason that he doesn't know but is still maintaining the show of bravado, hopefully with substance behind it! IF he knows at this present time then yeah I'd agree - we've won. I'm just not that confident that the club know, let alone Pep.

I respect the opinions of PB, PR and others on here and enjoy reading their posts, but I still don't find it implausible that the club really only will find out first thing on Monday morning. @BillyShears says as much too, iirc.
Wouldn’ t make any sense to me that we wouldnt get the result the day before announcement at the latest so originally last Thursday. It also makes no sense that we’d agree to deferring that when we agreed to theUEFA request to defer announcement until Monday

So Gill(the kunt) has had the bod that we have won?!

To be fair, he is one of the few who will know the result by now.

If this is coming from him rather than contacts people at United have at City, it’s significant!

No way to know the source, I guess, but if both City and UEFA (and by extension, Gill) are saying the same thing - that’s serious cause for optimism.

Do we think/know that anybody at MCFC would be reading this thread to gauge our general mood or would we not be that important (particular if we have won)

Tolmie is a journalist, he has to be very careful with embargoes, I am sure he knows already, but I am also sure the club and his employer knows he post's on here.

I wish! There is no embargo, seriously.

No media person or outlet is sat on one. There are no briefs, no steers.

I have said all along that City will have pretty much known right after CAS but were/are awaiting for the official confirmation to drop.

It could have been Friday, it could yet be Sunday night!!

We need all the board's of UEFA to be swept clean and new members to be appointed to them. Hopefully we may find some board members who will support Manchester City instead of those other clubs who have our club.
I'd sooner have people who get it right and are even-handed to everyone.

My main concern is that before the original decision I'd heard people like Sam Lee saying that apparently we were fine. Then we got the 2 year ban. And that news was only told to the club a few hours before the official announcement.

So I just dont know whether to believe that now the club definitely know the result already. They've always been confident in public that they haven't done anything wrong and that won't change now even if they don't know the outcome.

Hopefully everything turns out OK, but I'm not counting any chickens yet.
The CAS process is totally different and independent of UEFA's internal kangaroo court. Last time UEFA stiched us up and Sam Lee was duped by someone on that story, possibly to cause more damage to City. If you recall the UEFA decision was leaked months before it was revealed. The whole process was prejudiced. This is different. Both parties are treated equally and both get advance notification of the preliminary verdict. (That's what happens in the UK anyway).

yeah that’s my take...

City figure heads barely being able to contain their excitement... check.

No negativity stories in the press.. check.

An organisation renowned for leaking information in UEFA being uncharacteristically silent... check.
