No idea whether for an extra 1, 2, 3 or more years, but when you watch that press conference today, I’d say it would be a shock for him not to extend again to be honest.
How can he convince players to sign or re sign if he's not committed himself. Another 2 year extension would be good for all round. No idea whether for an extra 1, 2, 3 or more years, but when you watch that press conference today, I’d say it would be a shock for him not to extend again to be honest.
I do not get the feeling Pep is misty eyed about national team management yet. I honestly think the day in day out grind of club management will see him stay here for a good while to come. With Newcatle possibly upping the stakes, Liverpool sniffing around and Chelsea seemingly steadily improving the challenge will be to attractive for him to leave. Even utd are getting their act together to a small extent which provides some spice for his palate.
Italian football does not appeal to him i feel, he wants to be at the top of which the prem is, by a bit of a margin i think. Germany holds no allure and he will not be going back to Spain again. So where does he go? Here is where it is at and he has everything he wanted at Barca right here, he is no fool and will be accutely aware of this.
If he leaves us within the next 4 years i would be taken aback. Sticking my neck out i can see him here for another 8 or so years then he will go and do 8 years or so at the Spanish national team or possibly managing England. This is not some blue tinted specs stuff, it seems objective and realistic to my eyes.
Ahh right, yeah i can see that now you note it. Can only really be good for us that i suppose.Spain wouldn't have him. Not big fans of Pep outside of Catalonia mate.
Who is he gonna manage internationally? The political landscape has changed drastically in Spain/Catalonia since Pep came here. He won’t get offered the Spanish job now, nor would he want it, nor would a majority of the public want it. England are set. Italy are set. Germany? Holland? Argentina? Fuck knows but with Txkiki and Serriano there won’t be anywhere in world football where he’ll be so well supported and be so comfortable and in control. He might well decide he wants a new challenge and fair play and good luck if he does. But I’ve never been more confident that he might we’ll sign a new contract if we refresh the squad with high quality players. He’s made no secret of fact he wants to manage internationally. So I’d imagine his decision will be based on which world cup that would be for, minus 2-4 years prep. Other factors will be how his family are. I’d say all this more important than managing any other club side.
It is a good point. He will know it is hard to get any consistency in a national team for obvious reasons. The idea may even become less appealing the more club football becomes the absolute focus of the sporting worlds eyes as nice as international events can be.the man is a genius but would he be able to get the national team to play the way he wants with the little time he gets with them? I’d love for him to stay as long as possible and in a couple years bring our own equivalent to the class of 92 (rag). if we could bring through a full back, holding midfielder and goal scorer to go with Foden, Garcia and Doyle it would make all our days
Yeah that is a very important consideration for him certainly. His wife moved back to Catalonia to be more involved with the day to day of her business interests if memory serves.peps young and has plenty of time for international football, lets face it he can walk into any job at any time, regarding city i think the only reason he may leave is because he's not with his Mrs, i think she's in Germany or Spain, so his family may come first and quite right, if he can overcome this then he will most likely extend

Pep has his own business interests with his restaurant in Manchester. Not to mention the 20m per year job he has.Yeah that is a very important consideration for him certainly. His wife moved back to Catalonia to be more involved with the day to day of her business interests if memory serves.
a hard thing for him to do if he extends,, if we had the man to follow up from pep at city pep could become more background although still be in charge and have more time to fly back to see his familyYeah that is a very important consideration for him certainly. two big major things therePep has his own business interests with his restaurant in Manchester. Not to mention the 20m per year job he has.

The only thing I know is that the parents of the kids in my don’s class here in Valencia despise Pep. He’s far too rooted in the Spanish - Catalan divide to get appointed by Spain. I also highly doubt he’d want to manage them now as well. He has a tough enough time at City with the press etc, here they would never stop politicizing every single thing he does.Wonder how his yellow ribbon would go down as Spanish national manager...
All the City & Pep haters in the press would have a field day if he took the England job, think Turnip Taylor, Wally with a brolly, Gazza, Beckham and even Bobby Robson all rolled into one, the press in this country made representing it toxic & the FA well.....did FA, they systematically ran every manager out of a job, encouraged racial undertones & the vilification of John Barnes & our very own Raheem Sterling, I think Italy/Juve is more likely or one of the big South American countriesI'm convinced he wants the England job when he has taken City to the position of best team in the world. Universally acclaimed best team in the world. This might take a few years. The tears will be salty down the mersey and the Bridgewater canal but the rest of the world and history will embrace one of the best team to ever play the beautiful game. Peps City, spoken about for generations to come. The ultimate team.

Can you see the FA, overseen by Gill, appointing Pep after he’s pretty much just called out the entire English football establishment? ;-)Its only toxic if they fail. Pepp won't fail. He will be a hero. Win the world Cup and move on.
Were talking in 5 years plus. Who knows what the relationship between Pepp and the Fa will look like then or for that matter who will be in power at the Fa.Can you see the FA, overseen by Gill, appointing Pep after he’s pretty much just called out the entire English football establishment? ;-)
Were talking in 5 years plus when Pep will be seen by the world as a footballing God. Who knows what his relationship with the FA will look like then. Southgate to fail at next 2 Euros and the world cup while Pep wins all before him in England and Europe. Not forgetting the club world cup. The country will demand Pep as the manager then. The dynasty at City will be built. Time to start thinking big again, really big...Can you see the FA, overseen by Gill, appointing Pep after he’s pretty much just called out the entire English football establishment? ;-)
