So the scousers cannot break our 100 points record - after they lost today Klopp said they weren't motivated by records. I suggest he looks back a few weeks and reviews the press interviews with some of his players who stated they wanted to smash our records.
When he first arrived in the country I thought he was a decent manager - how that opinion has changed these past few years.

Any suggestion that group of players didn’t want to break, or match, our record is comical and spectacularly fails to grasp the psychology of leading sports professionals, especially those within a team competing in a league over the course of a season. To be part of demonstrably the best squad In a particular era (arguably of all time) is something every self-respecting team-sports professional must aspire to; to suggest otherwise is absurd. Alongside ability and hard work, that is why they became elite athletes. The will to win and be the best. It’s the same reason every sprinter wants to beat Usain Bolt’s record as well as winning Olympic gold - preferably both at the same time.

Despite the mental gymnastics that have been going on since the final whistle last night, does anyone seriously doubt the level and extent of white noise from press and supporters alike if they’d matched or surpassed 100 points - the narrative about them being the greatest team ever already being set in certain quarters in January ffs. The desperation of some to call this team great when the season was barely over half way through was telling. Great teams retain titles, because great teams have the mental strength to do so. They manage to overcome the innate tendency in humans to lose their hunger once they reach the summit and can enjoy the views. Great teams push on to break records once the race is won, because they are winners; and because a great team is a winning team - in every sense of the word. Great teams also want to win every competition they are in.

Doubtless in time, the script will morph into enforced break preventing them breaking 100 points, but the truth is they were dead on their feet before the pause button was pressed on the season. They were done, mentally and physically before the clocks went forward. All the great sides of recent years have delivered when it really matters, at the business end of the season, when the pressure (internal and external) is at its most acute, when trophies AND records are being pursued.

They are a good side, they are a very good side, but with no meaningful record to cling onto this season (other than breaking their club’s title drought, which is doubtless noteworthy) they can only possibly be considered great if they retain their title next season.

Maybe they will, and if so, fair enough, but until they do the suggestion they deserve to rank along the great sides of the modern era is one that can only be held by someone suffering from a defect of the mind.

So, they’re basically a Leicester.

On the WhatsApp group I’m on with some lads I play football with although don’t know them that well. One Liverpool fan claiming they are aiming to finish on 96 points as it will be a fitting tribute to those who lost their lives in Hillsborough for it to be their title winning defence.

So tempted to put it would be a more fitting tribute if you get relegated next season on 39 points for the ones you killed in Heysal.

However I think that might be escalating things a bit quickly
Throwing him the old Chelsea curve ball?

Is it me or does feel like liverpool have been relagated rather then winning the premier league? They seem so angry rather than joyful after winning the league after 30 years. Why are they so obsessed with City?
Well that can't be right - we are not remotely important enough to be obsessed about remember..........

Not interested in records, nothing to play for anymore, look exhausted and bereft of ideas. If he doesn’t freshen up over the summer this team will consider this season as job done and carry it into next year. For the hunger to disappear so quickly, should be aworry for them

Worthy Champions but their season has fizzled out completely. The damage the end to this season has done to them will not be known until the new season kicks off. Then we'll see what they are about. But before then, they can lift the trophy in an empty stadium, they can do a fake trophy lift to an empty Kop, they can do an open top bus celebration with no fans and they can enjoy watching the Champions League as another club takes the title from them. If there's one time you really don't want to be new Premier League Champions, it's now. Enjoy.

He is a decent manager, but a horrible man.

City, United and Chelsea all strengthening in the coming months, they are lying to themselves if they think they can plug the gaps with their youth team. The seasons after 2012, 2014 and this one are examples to us where if you don’t address the issues in the squad you finish a country mile behind the eventual champions. If Klopp can get a tune out of the same 11 four seasons in a row that would be some feet, I think City being buoyed by the CAS verdict and the bad blood between the two clubs. Our lot will be fired up to take the title off them, I can’t wait for the new season to get underway.

When it all boils down, you can't even file the dippers * title win with either Blackburn's or Leicester's as both those clubs won their respective titles in an unbroken season, you know, how title winning teams should be measured..!

It's just a commercial decision winning title, gifted to them by the suits to ensure the product remains buoyant..!

A cut and shut trophy that is fundamentaly flawed..!

And what's really heartwarming is that we know that, they know that, every fucker knows that..!

Agree.

That team has a first 11 and has been played into the ground. There is no way they can maintain the levels with the squad they have. It is so hard to keep motivation, but City keep performing because Pep's tactics are all about controlling possession so we can coast when we need to.

Klopp's are all about intensity so as soon as that drops the team suffers. It is likely that players will go through bad form or suffer injuries. Their team has managed to avoid that for the past couple of seasons. Next year let's see how they cope.

Think i may have upset him mentioning that he should Hold my beer and my City Centurions shirt.. Skip to 20 mins in...

What a bitter childish man.
What makes him think the word Centurions is 'plastic' or that 'nobody else would use that word'?
Wtf is this middle aged man child talking about celebrations and confetti?
Talking about 'taking' some of the players from Wolves.
The most sensible thing he says in the clip is that he doesn't have a clue.
