Kalidou Koulibaly

How could he not improve our defence, alongside having Laporte back. It’s not as if we have many problems to fix, we’ll finish 15 ish points off where we should be. Sort out central defence including Laporte back up and better left back option problems fixed, doesn’t have to be Koulibaly but it has to be somebody and he’s one of the best.

we’ve got a great centre back in Laporte, him being injured was why we lost so many games and having shite left backs.

if Liverpool lost vvd they would of struggled.
They have great full backs yes but a matip/Gomez/lovern combo would of left them vulnerable.

unfortunate injury to Laporte which left us with 2 shakey CBS and a declining dinho to choose from.

yes if Laporte gets injured we would be fucked again but so would any team losing there number one CB

So we make sure we don’t put ourselves in that position again. We buy a partner and a back up. Why repeat the same mistake.

I agree it systematic problem, and if you go back to most of the important games we lost you will find out we usually concede from the 1st counter attacks, attempts.

If you look at Aubameyang 1st goal, there is noway Koulibaly or Maldini could have done anything about it.

Cross to the right side, where Walker couldn't clear it.

Maybe it was Mendy's fault to allow Pepe to cross the ball easily.

Mendy is wank full stop!!!!

Laporte / stones / Garcia / eke

with a world class left back

would be better Options then

vvd/matip / Gomez / lovern

We should be buying a decent LB and a forward . Don’t need to pay our record transfer fee for a near on 30 year old donkey

We concede bad goals, we don't concede a lot of goals.

City have the second best-defensive record in the league, conceding just two more than Liverpool, one less than United and far superior to blocking teams such as Sheffield United and Wolves - Ederson could win Golden Gloves - us scoring so many more goals than anybody else.

It was the same when Vinny or Demichelis were in the back-four, experienced as fuck and reliable most of the time but always a team conceding laughable goals.

I think a deal for Ake makes solid sense and would rather we can get Stones to refocus, than spend £70m on Koulibaly. Stones has all the system playing tools and is still only 25. If he can't stay fit, then Garcia must continue to get his chance.

It is the make up of the system in front of the back four which mainly needs to change. A proper left-sided attacker would ensure our left-back isn't caught seventy yards from his own goal if teams are able to transition on us - would also like another left-back to challenge Mendy.

Rodri needs help and would much rather see us spend big cash on another midfielder with legs and a top-class forward.

I agree Tolm but we are so desperate for a top notch LB

Going into next season with Mendy & Zinchenko is just not right

If we had the chance of Ake & Alaba or Aka & Koulabily then I would snap there hands off with Alaba all day every day, leaving Garcia & Stones as 4 CB's.
Add 2 top young guns in Bennacer & Torres then go all in for Kane, that would be City sorted more connected & better shape

Koulibaly, donkey. Yes right. So if Laporte got injured you’re happy to go with Garcia and Stones. It isn’t instead of a left back and forward you do know that ?

Yes I understand, I was just pointing out that we were very solid in the first half of the season with Stones.

the 4 Loss are because of tactical / Personnel Issues, Nothing a world class CB could do to prevent those losses.

I think you guys are REALLY OVERPLAYING the Kompany Effect towards the end of the season.

we were much more focused on the defensive side of things. That is why we only conceded 1 goal from open play in 14 Games
(Against Watford, Zinchenko was at fault, nothing a world class CB can do to prevent that)

But you have to remember:
We almost conceded against Leceister at 86 mins..... because of mistakes from our full-backs(Zinchenko I think)
If it was not for Kelechi bieng a blue, that would've been a goal.

What about our first & Second Legs Vs Spurs?
Laporte made two mistakes, & Kompany Missed the header that hit Llorente's arm...

Yes Kompany Is one of the best Leaders, but are you guys just not OVERPLAYING it just because he scored the winning Goal?
I'll try to reply later in detail, but come on man, we've had good debates. No need to insult my intelligence by assuming my opinion is based on Kompany scoring a goal. My opinion is based on us conceding 11 goals in 29 games outside of that down spell in December and January thanks to in part having 2 highly competent CBs in the team (whoever they are). There are other equally key factors of course, but if we'd not had 2 good CBs we'd never have done that well at the back.

I think you are underestimating Stones performances in the first half of the season & overestimating Kompany's toward the second half of the season.

I seriously do.

Kompany had 7 of his 13 starts in the PL on Feb 27th Matchday 28.

like I said, Kompany was immense yes, but what got us over the line was THE ENTIRE TEAM, the CB partnership was not some legendary stuff that was under constant pressure.

Why are we not after Sergio Ramos?

Leader? Check

Scores Penalties? Check

Won't Block Garcia? Double Check

Led his Team to a Title? Give him #4 shirt
Did your ITK bollocks not give you enough attention?

I'm not talking about solely Kompany. My point is having 2 good centre backs. Stones, Otamendi, Laporte, Kompany, whoever.
