Two credible journalists who do not refute the rumour, only that they do not believe the board will complete the deal = surprising you continue to be confused by it

I have never made a claim that the board will follow through, only that it is both natural for the player to desire to return and legitimate that he has actually communicated the desire to do so. Only thing that could be bollocks is if the desire wasn't true and you've failed, twice, to assert any credible journalists to refute it

Nothing to suggest he will go this summer, or wants to.

But 100% safe to assume a former barca academy youth, who develpops into a successful player, will always have one eye on a return, and Barcelona will always look to make sure he does. Reasonable to have an expectation that if he gets good, they will come for him and he will go. That isn't just pique, there is a whole list, they model their club and academy on that, and players buy into it from a young age.

Hopefully he signs a new contract, and we get a few years out of him, and a decent fee, plus a squad player that is club-grown in the CL.

It cannot be that bad if we are only 3 goals worse off than the Champions and let's not forget the goals chalked off pools record by VAR. I think our defence gets criticism because we defend very high and when a mistake is made it invariably leads to a goal and looks Keystone cops stuff. We cannot have the football we have with Pep's attacking style without it. What would you prefer?

A top class centre back with pace and a better back up option than Stones or Otta. Love our style of play but because of it a quick centre back would be very handy.

for me if you want him you can have him - but you will have to pay for him however. He is undoubted quality player and you have to pay for quality unless you want to be a club like Bayern who are underhand and get players to run down contracts while publicly tapping players up from all angles.

Time to pay up or shut up and stop using the press as your mouth piece.

As for our stance on it - Garcia signs a new contract or put him on the transfer market and doesnt play first team - he makes a decision and respects the club instead of messing them around (No evidence that this is what he is doing).

Unlikely, particularly when you consider you got him for free and was fully developed by Barcelona - hence why the player has rebuffed a contract extension, knowing full well the club will not pay a big fee for him. City have invested 3 years, Barcelona a decade. Naive to think otherwise.

Clear Pep & City have made the player feel important and expressed their trust in his future but similarly City & Pep also know that if the will of the player is to return to his home club there is little they can/will do to stop it. Domenech pointed out his desire to return is predicated on Barca showing an interest in his return - if they do not, he will stay of course. Perhaps Pep, like Luis Martin or Adrian Sanchez, does not have confidence this board prioritize his return - we'll see as I have my doubts as well

Garcia is in the Manchester City first team and well regarded. I think he will stay if he believes he has a chance to play in the Manchester City first team. I don't think any young player would give up that opportunity at such a young age.
