Ake and Mendy for the LB, so why do we need another one and Zinchenko??

Because if Ake, Zinchenko, or even Cancelo are asked to play left-back, we have to modify our entire line of attack. We become slower, have less natural width, and are prone to turning inside. Mendy has consistently been hampered by injury but also knows that his position is not under threat due to the lack of serious competition, compare Walker’s consistency. More good reasons than not. ;-)
You'll be hard pressed to find a LB with worse defensive stats than Mendy.. He's utterly shite. £ for £ our worst signing ever
That seems an excessive number of options for one position.
Roque Santa Cruz says Hi.
At least Mendy played though.Mendy cost 3 times as much, the most expensive fullback of all time until Lucas Hernandez. Santa Cruz was our cheapest striker bought that summer(Tevez and Adebayor), there wasn't nearly as much expectation.

Not really. He could for example spend another year playing every game and developing at a much quicker rate instead of being 4th choice LB and getting <10 games all season.
Haha him and 8 others pmslThought he had signed for City months ago
Nope he's not good enough & thats the truthIt's only fair to say he's had a lot of injuries and may get better, however sometimes he seems to let a player just walk past him or be on the complete wrong place.
We do play an unusual system though.
