Not the best time to try and play a game not suited to our players. Disappointed by some performances - Laporte looked ponderous, Mahrez did the square root of nothing, Gundogan didn't drive forward at all. All that was good against Real was missing by over complicating. Foden and Bernardo should have played - football is a tough business and there should be no time for sentimentality.

Gutted but we move on- we need to focus on youth and building around Kev who was the only one who played to his levels. Torres and Ake will help but I think we need to make some tough calls on the futures of players like Gundogan & Mahrez. Forget 70m centre backs we need to find another striker because without Sergio we are missing someone who can score out of nothing.

It wasn't a dumb line up, it worked well in the second half. THe problem IMO was the players. Walker just wasn't a wingback...he just kept playing as an extra RB.

When Mahrez replaced Walker as RWB, he was the attacking player we needed there, and the system started working really well.

And then the players let him down. And no matter if they were a bit unused to the system, Walker was absolutely shocking in the first goal, which completely fucked us. Absolutely unforgiveable individual errors, plural.
