It's called getting your excuses in early.

In any other walk of life, if your boss talked you down in public, constantly said you weren't good enough to get to the top of your field, constantly said your competitors were bigger and stronger than your company, and to top it off constantly insulted your customers he or she would be dismissed.

If any other city manager of the last 40 years had done so he would be chased out of town by us the fans, never mind the board.

If pep had spoken like this so consistently about Bayern or barca he would have been dismissed.

If City continue to take this sort of insult lying down it will become a self fulfilling prophecy, as it has done so already.

He took over a team that was old and stale but had just been managed to a semi final and lavished hundreds of millions on new players. He has been given every conceivable advantage. His wish is the clubs command. And yet he has undoubtedly taken us backwards in Europe. We have done very well indeed in the league and domestic cups which will - correctly - buy him time but, honestly, I think the club should warn him about these comments and if they happen again he should be dismissed.

I'm tired of seeing my club being managed by a man that quite obviously, and publicly, wants the world to know he thinks he is doing it a favour by agreeing to manage them.

Once more and he should be sacked. Very publicly. Some things are more important that domestic trophies. Self respect is one of them. This man does not respect this club.
I completely agree with the first half of your post. I’m absolutely fucking sick to death of his Likkle-City-itis-verbal-diarrhoea that he’s got. At times, some of the stuff he comes out with I feel like he needs a bang on the head with Helen’s Bell and force fed one of Gary James’ books.

I have fucking loved watching the football he’s had us playing these 3½ years and I really want him to extend until 2023 or beyond.

But fuck me he needs to change his tune about this club! He would have been hounded out of Barça and Bayern for saying similar things about them and their rivals like he has City and our rivals.

However I disagree with the last half of your post. He hasn’t undoubtedly taken us backwards in Europe. We’ve been a steady Ro16-Quarter final team. With one knock-out stage non-qualification and one semi-final as anomalies to the norm. And Pep has had us performing to our norm.

But also it’s a cup competition, it’s just about going on a good run, it’s not about going forwards or backwards compared to previous years really. Anyone can have a good cup run, it’s just the chance that comes from the draw you get, taking your chances and the officials doing their job properly. Real Madrid won 3 CLs in a row and they weren’t even the best team in Spain in any of those seasons. Liverpool in 2005 and Chelsea in 2012 won the CL when finishing 5th in the Prem. Doing well in the CL doesn’t really show anything about a manager or team other than that season’s CL run of the 7 teams you were drawn against out of the 32 that entered. It shows who the best team in Europe is about us much as the FA Cup shows who the best team in England is.

And he shouldn’t be sacked for his comments about City but he should just shut the fuck up with them, properly get on board with this club and our fanbase.

Totally agree with having a pop at him about his comments about city. We have been here 125 years and are a quality club.

He has got this very wrong from day one.

A couple of things annoy me about Pep , continually stating we are a small club with little history , well compared to Barca and Bayern who both play in two team leagues , yes i agree , they have racked up loads of titles. But we are currently as part of CFG the most valuable football club in the world , and he can go out and buy virtually any player he wants , and the bullshit he spouted about not being able to afford McGuire , is just a smoke screen , the club didnt want to stump up £90m for slabhead because he wasnt worth it.
The other issue is his treatment of Foden , Merlin is having an average injury plagued season , Bernardo is light years away from his best form and Mahrez has one good game in three , and yet Foden rarely gets a sniff of a first team start. If Foden cant get in the first team when three midfield players are under par , when will he ? About time he showed some faith give the lad half a dozen league games , what can Pep lose , the title has already gone.
Having said all the above , he is the best manager we have had and the best of his generation , but a stubborn so and so.
