Changed our club beyond recognition. Doesn’t mean he doesnt warrant a fucking punch in the face.
Not the best time to try and play a game not suited to our players. Disappointed by some performances - Laporte looked ponderous, Mahrez did the square root of nothing, Gundogan didn't drive forward at all. All that was good against Real was missing by over complicating. Foden and Bernardo should have played - football is a tough business and there should be no time for sentimentality.
Gutted but we move on- we need to focus on youth and building around Kev who was the only one who played to his levels. Torres and Ake will help but I think we need to make some tough calls on the futures of players like Gundogan & Mahrez. Forget 70m centre backs we need to find another striker because without Sergio we are missing someone who can score out of nothing.

Yes. But they started out shot coz Pep set up a dumb lineup.
It wasn't a dumb line up, it worked well in the second half. THe problem IMO was the players. Walker just wasn't a wingback...he just kept playing as an extra RB.
When Mahrez replaced Walker as RWB, he was the attacking player we needed there, and the system started working really well.
And then the players let him down. And no matter if they were a bit unused to the system, Walker was absolutely shocking in the first goal, which completely fucked us. Absolutely unforgiveable individual errors, plural.

That's not how this works though. Pep didn't just turn up to the stadium today and say "right lads, lets try 532 today".
They'll have been practicing and training all week, and it's a formation 90% of them have actually played before under Pep, we did it a bunch before Mendy got injured in the Centurions season.
1 weeks training before a Champions League Quarter Final to play a formation too negative for Sam Allardyce. Against Lyon.
You show yourself up every time you talk about football but we really don't need it tonight.
Please don't try and defend the indefensible.
