No he isn’t. He played in both wins over Madrid. He was completely anonymous tonight and should have been hooked at halftime, but that’s not because he’s incapable of playing against good teams, it’s because he was asked to perform a role he is manifestly ill-suited for.

Watch tonights game again, and the Liverpool game even though we won that. He was shit in both. Gave the ball away in key areas, was slow to make that key pass. And even against Madrid. He was so fragile, its like hes afraid to put a tackle in. All he does is face up to players. Not good enough period. Needs to go this summer!

Gundogan can play 6 and only 6 in this side.

He will do ok in 90% of games because we are typically playing opposition that aren’t as good as us, they don’t press us and barely step foot in our half. I am fine with him in games like this.

In the remaining 10% of games, where we are playing sides that are either better than us, or are at least willing to have a go at us, he will be shown up for what he is...a decent footballer on the ball, a pedestrian coward off it.

Gundogan has great passing technique, but just won't tackle (he had injury history), slow as a turtle. He really should be moved on, but hard to find a player so cheap who can pass like him :(
