Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Poch is an Espanyol man so I can’t see him going to Barcelona.

I guess I’d take him at a push although he doesn’t win trophies.

I mean he managed Espanyol in a two team league, Southampton who he never had the squad to win anything with and spuds where again he hardly had the budget to do anything. I think a lot of people seriously downplay what he achieved with Spuds. He basically took a team that was finishing around 6th and got them into the Champions League each season and even a Champs League final using basically what was just in their academy to do so since Levy is such a tight arse.

He is also a big believer in youth so I would take him for that reason alone as I would like to see what he does with access to our world class academy.

Because of the topsy-turvy nature of the world at present, I don’t think he’ll leave at the end of this coming season. I think he’ll sign a two-year extension but may leave in the middle of that if he has had another successful season in 21-22. He has mentioned leaving behind something special and I’m not sure that by that he means memories of two great seasons, rather a young team that are set to compete for 3-5 years.

Your point is valid but Peps not finished. Stick with him and we’ll be great again.
Even if he stays , I am sure it won't be longer than a one year extension.

I think we are better than that, and I am starting to feel he thinks he's doing us all a favour with his presence.

Possibly. But he raised big question marks

A host of football people were questioning his decision-making in big games before he even came to us. We were having none of it but I have to say now that they look like they had a point.

We are so often under siege from the footballing world but sometimes maybe they have a point?

When pep leaves we will drop back into the pack and we will look on his 100 point season and the quad as the pinnacle in our history.

Some going on about a bad season so new manager comes in and he want be as good as pep we make top four fine win nowt for a couple of season the we win the cup and finish second everyone be saying what a good season. At the moment majority of us are in this bubble thinking the good times of winning the league every year or other year and a cup every season is the norm! Look at the scum spent a billion ain’t won the league in 8 years.

That winning mentality lifts trophies. The three points at Palace or not being held at home by Arsenal. I don’t see that with him.

He’d have my support certainly though.

Everyone single one of us has weakness, and so do the great's, I think Pep's is self doubt in the Champions League.

I said earlier, his Barca team that beat United at Wembley were magnificent, in my opinion that night they produced the greatest performance in the history of club football.

Compare that to last night, arguably we are as talented ( Messi apart) but were sent out waving white flags from the start.

An incredible contrast.

PS and he did the same at Bayern

There isn’t many glaring options but Pep isn’t going to be here forever. Nanglesmann, Poch or Luis Enrique for me
