Seasoncard Amnesty

2 CM 'reps', one says ST amnesty is a reaction to COVID govt guidelines and rules regarding getting fans back into stadia with track and trace

the other says it's something they've been considering for 12 months.

Which is it?
Well I've been involved in the meetings where we've been talking about it for nearly 18 months. It was planned this summer anyway. But Covid-19 makes it a necessity as we have to have accurate data on everyone who has an account, whether that's season card holders or Cityzens Matchday members. So both are right.

Was i imagining the fact i saw a lovely reply from eccles blue to my post when insomiacly (not a word!) had a quick browse at 3am, yet when i got up this morning, it's gone....?

If that's aimed at people like me who were querying the fact we don't have photo ID, i'dve hoped for better from someone elected... :( And i see later on you're calling people gobshites...

I apologised if i got the wrong end of the stick from your post but that went unnoticed, and i stand by what i said about ID as at the bank for example they would only accept passport or driving license which i didnt have. But i guess that's just me needing something to moan about. I could spew out all the big things i have to moan about, like the fact by the time my mum gets to go back into the stadium safely she probably wont remember what football is seeing as when i saw her today (i'm her "bubble") she had forgotten completely things that happened yesterday. (Hello to those in 102 who know mum, age 77, ill, and my life)

So yeah, i guess i shouldn't give a shit about photo ID, cos i doubt we'll be going - thanks for the positive repsonse from my inital genuine worry about photo ID at the top of page 2, you were the seasoncard representitive so i thought it was allowed to query worries to you without later on being called a moaned and hinted at no doubt being part of the gang of "gobshites".

oww. I’m guessing there special what’s app group have called you worse ...the CM group is a shambles and only looking after themselves.. how they got to this stage is a joke ...
elected my arse .. seasons ticket holder 30 years and never herd of a vote
Supposed to represent fans in there catagory
But all have supporters club backgrounds ringfencing there away ticket allocation whilst reducing normal fans .
speak for less then you 1% of our fan base
Get rid of them or make it fare

I'm sorry kippaxkid74 there was a post from me that I deleted because I thought it came across too 'Facebooky' if that makes sense? I was concerned that some might make fun of either me or you for me being soft!
In hindsight I should have just cut and pasted it to you in a PM but, as you say, it was the middle of the night and I was also suffering from insomiacly(!) and it didn't occur to me until too late.

I was basically saying please don't stress because whatever anyone on here says it is up to the club and we have to trust in them at the end of the day. You sounded stressed and I was concerned for you and I am sorry for being a wimp and not leaving it on now because I shouldn't have been worried about 'keyboard warriors' but about you!

Just please take it as read that the club will be the ones who make the decisions, they will listen to CM group as well but the club have to take the decisions that will help as many of us as possible. As I've said in another post they have to make the decision for thousands of us and it will not please everyone but there are so many things to be stressed about these days. I also ended with virtual hugs for you and your Mum which was another 'Facebooky' thing!! :-) (But they were sincerely meant!)

p.s. I'm glad that you thought it was a lovely reply, I does me best as my old gran used to tell me to do. :-)

p.p.s. I’ve just remembered that I also said if you had difficulty with the photo ID that the club would be able to help and talk you through it. There are employees there, regardless of how some see them, who are among the most helpful you could wish for.

What's pissing me off and I'd imagine a lot of blues is the terminology used by the CM representatives. they are just the currently appointed fans representatives and not employees of the club. Think they need to remember that.
See the below sentence Colin. Noticed you referring to it as WE a few times.
"But Covid-19 makes it a necessity as WE have to have accurate data on everyone who has an account".

You represent the fans. You don't need accurate records. The club do.

Maybe pay attention and vote next time, or alternatively stand yourself.

I think what’s needed is a football fans union across all clubs you have elected reps from across all divides young , old , ethnic backgrounds etc .
This should be a recognised union from all clubs
Where the reps sit at boardroom level on issues that concern the supporters , I’m very much concerned about this issue of season cards .
The cm lads are doing a thankless job I don’t agree with a lot with what they have come out with but... being a union rep for the GMB for years it’s a thankless task and trust they do their best but you will never ever please everyone as it’s personal circumstances for most .

this is my first ever post and in no way a political one.
Hope common sense prevails in all this.

And that's who I was referring to. 'We" is City. Are you going to pull up everyone who refers to City as "we"?

There was plenty of publicity about the election of the fan reps both in social media on City’s OS in emails and on here The club can only do so much to let people know They all stood with a mandate and elections were held If you didn’t know then fair enough but to suggest they are just looking after themselves is a nonsense

Care to enlighten me how I'm looking after myself? And which OSC branch each CM rep belongs to? Because as far I'm aware none of the other 8 (Kevin Parker does of course) belong to a branch.

I was a member at Prestwich & Whitefield a few years ago but was working away all the time then they stopped having regular meetings a while back so there was no point in being a member . I moved as well and was looking to join a branch that met regu as I enjoy mixing with my fellow City fans. As it happens, about the time I applied to go on the shortlist to be a rep, I did a radio show with Ian Cheeseman and one of the other guests was on the committee at Alkrington, which isn't far from where I live. Turned out they held regular meetings and the Branch secretary was an old colleague and friend from many years ago. So I joined and would have done regardless of any involvement in City Matters.

And I'll tell you what freebies I've had out of CM. We all got a free book about the takeover 'Killing The Game' and once, when an afternoon meeting overran quite a bit before an evening game, I didn't have time to get back to meet a group of mates for our ritual pre-match Chinese so the club kindly ensured I got something to eat. And that's it.

For that reward I've put in lots of hours work - at meetings, including evenings and weekends, answering fan emails and dealing with their issues, doing research and talking to other clubs' fans, preparing stuff for discussion at meetings and other bits and pieces. That cuts into my free time plus I've had to use holiday entitlement at work, when we start a sub-group meeting at 1 or 2pm for 3 hours then finish with a reps meeting of full CM with the club in the evening till 9:30pm.

So, again in case you've tired yourself reading this, please tell me how me and my fellow reps are "only looking after yourselves".

doesnt make it right though does it? im not going on my holidays im going to watch a match then go on the piss, I shouldnt need a passport for that!
In case you hadn't noticed these are not ordinary times, there's no way the authorities are going to let thousands of people turn up at the stadiums with no accurate record of exactly who is admitted to the stadium, and as we've seen from the pub re-openings too many took the piss by giving false details where no photo ID was required.

Trouble is, season cards are not checked / inspected, they only go through the scanners on the turnstiles. I guess every one will need to be checked by a steward.... that'll be fun!
Easy could be carried out during the secuity checks

Providing photo ID is a minor issue to what else fans are going to have to face

We live in times of a pandemic and our usual freedoms have changed to help stop the transmission of this virus, including where we can go and what we have to do or can do Football is trying its best to start to get some supporters back in the grounds and so we have to accept the consequences of it being allowed to do so by the authorities

The “match day experience” will be totally different

The governments’ agency Sports Grounds Safety Authority are responsible and have issued a draft guidance of 85 pages together with videos webinars and courses to help the league and clubs prepare for a partial opening in early October, lots of meetings with all the relevant bodies have been taken place including fans representatives both nationally and at each club

The PL have commissioned experts into how crowd behave entering and leaving stadia the easiest part is once the fans are in their seats it’s the entering leaving and movement that’s the most difficult. Leaving early is likely to not be allowed, as departing times to control the flow is likely Habits formed over many years attending games will have to change, even where you park and get to the ground and what you do when you get there Some clubs will have to have the food and drink areas outside the stadium and even toilets although it seems that some are struggling with this City and a few other clubs are lobbing to suspend the act that prevents alcohol being consumed in the bowl so that they can deliver to the seats having ordered online.

Some clubs are going to have problems with some of the restrictions that will be imposed to allow the max attendance, 30% (initially) but this will be dependent upon the stadium Everton, for one, will struggle to achieve this. Good news is City are likely to be ok but the size of the concourse will be a major factor. Its likely that you will be allocate seats in different parts of the ground on a match for match basis and unlikely to be in your own seat. You will be able to sit with family from the same household but not with mates

The season card amnesty is not just City it will happen at all clubs so that the database is updated and current there is also likely to be protection for those SC holders who wish to skip the season

Not as consultation - with 1+ person as you stated, most fans have heard nothing from the club and it is all gossip and hearsay so far.

This behind closed doors we know what's best for you stuff isn't befitting of an organisation with 'members'. Consulting fans would be a better idea and can be done quickly.

Correct, this thread illustrates this, multiple experiences a consultancy would have identified this in the first phase and inform.

BTW my observation at some night matches, upto 30% around me aren't the regular SC holder. Across the stadium we will see empty seats.
