Seasoncard Amnesty

So a meeting doesn’t count?

Not as consultation - with 1+ person as you stated, most fans have heard nothing from the club and it is all gossip and hearsay so far.

This behind closed doors we know what's best for you stuff isn't befitting of an organisation with 'members'. Consulting fans would be a better idea and can be done quickly.

I'm guessing that with the COVID situation and no evidence to suggest when it will be properly safe to enter ours or any other stadium - whatever the number allowed in, the club have nothing concrete to consult us on ? It would be all speculation. With Manchester still subject to restrictions in the middle of August, there's no way the two stadiums will open to fans any time soon.

Serious question Corky. What would you want/expect to be consulted on? A lot of things are still very unclear and similarly a lot of stuff will be mandated by the authorities so no one will have any say about.

Calm down crackpot.
Once you have, tell me where I have blamed the club.
I said "City will lose out by putting these rules in place."
Yes but it's not City's choice. They can't ignore something that they've been told is a conditiion of readmitting fans. I've just come off another City Matters meeting and we believe that this will impact fans and probably a significant number, probably older fans, would give up completely. We're talking about one season but it could be two, three or even more before fans are allowed back in properly in the worst case scenario. The club is going to have think very carefully about how we attract new fans. That's something I've said previously but the current situation will exacerbate.

The club's proposed changes that are being discussed in this thread.

E.g. If we implement this (proposal x) what would be the unintended consequences.

They are clearly considering things, and when they have dates, seat numbers/patterns, guidance on vomitories, aisles, concourses, toilets and admission procedures all finalised there will be no time to consult. There are several pieces of draft guidance so they have an idea of what is likely to happen.

Strict ID checks will affect the poorest fans who share season tickets, that is one thing that could have been consulted on if they are proposing it. There is discretion on making places COVID-secure, and companies come up with their own solutions, the social distancing guidance for sports grounds doesn't mandate how you do it.

For the best example they should look at how they let fans return in the Danish league.

That's one of the reasons I often talk about things on here as, among all the abuse, I do sometimes get some useful feedback that I wouldn't otherwise have been aware of.

Just as an addendum type thing: I have been involved in a H&S risk assessment recently for returners. Twenty odd pages. Every time you thought you might have solved one problem someone would mention something else! So I can really appreciate what City and the CMs are having to go through. We only had a few hundred to think about the club has thousands.
Just trying to give some perspective and another point of view.

Clubs I think are very much in the infancy of their planning. You are correct the clubs are in receipt of the supplementary guidance docs for covid 19, but only for four weeks are so.

The docs provides guidance on a lot of different scenarios, in relation to arrangement in seats, concourses, toilets, getting fans into the ground, travel etc.

Its a pretty huge undertaking to firstly determine how to ensure social distancing throughout the stadium, including arrival, allocation of seats, deciding how to allocate tickets eg groups rather than individuals would result in huge variations in capacities. Then I presume they will have to follow this methodology for all possible scenarios, including the 3 possible methods of social distancing 1 metre, 2 metres and 1 metre (from the central part of the body). I very much doubt the club is anywhere near that far down the lines and as evidenced by this thread consulting will only lead to a vast wide ranging number of opinions for scenarios which may be redundant in 3/4 months time and only upset people in the short term.

I do understand your point about the season ticket sharing issue and the club has probably turned a blind eye to this for years. However in a post Covid world I think its less likely they will be able to so as there argument would be for track and trace to be effective it requires the fastest response time. Chasing up other ‘registered persons’ would delay this and give a green light for others to share tickets if multiple users was the accepted norm.
