Dogs/Puppies

Hello everyone.

I am planning to adopt a puppy now that I have moved to a new place. I used to own a Labrador retriever but that was a decade back. I am looking for suggestions from fellow blues. I work from 8.00 to 5.00 and since I don't have a significant other, the puppy will be staying alone. Do Labradors have problems with that or should I look for a different breed? Also, which breeds are okay with not so big spaces as I live in a 1 bedroom apartment which is fairly small. I must add that currently I work from home but I need to prepare just in case my company wants me to start working from the office.

Any suggestions?
I wouldn't buy a puppy pal, especially if I lived near a school. And I wouldn't buy any sweets either.

People talk; )

So single people are not allowed to adopt dogs I Imagine from the comments above.

You just need to accept it wont be good for the dog, yourself or your house and furnishings unless you make provisions ie dog walking, someone popping in or the dog going to a friends or relatives for a while each day.

Dogs, especially puppies are social animals and instead of learning and being nurtured by you its alone all day, bored, not being stimulated, not learning to toilet outside and probably destroying the house which will just piss you off.

Same sentiments as everyone else tbh, unless you can find someone else to have the dog for at least a few hours every day then it’s not fair.

Just watch a few vids of what dogs are like when their owners are out for a long while and you’ll understand too as you’re clearly a dog lover.

You could always use a doggy day care centre for when you are at work. Used to send our Springer to one and she loved it there. Not cheap tho for 5 days. Glad we did it tho, couldn't imagine life without her now.

IMO you should not get a dog when it must be alone for that long. Most dogs suffer separated from their humans.

I have a question. Is it a problem with a puppy or for adult dogs as well? Puppies I get it that they need a lot of time but what about adult dogs?
