managed to find some good bit from when he was here including some defensive work yet according to many he cannot defend at all

Why? All I see are a couple of good crosses and interceptions. The guy can’t defend for one bit. If you want to see a proper leftback who’s capable of both going forward and defending (which we desperately need), then check out Tagliafico’s highlights. He’s very impressive and would be perfect.
