Bartomeu can't actually resign btw. Read on somewhere that there’s a clause in the club charter that leaves the board members personally responsible for 15% of the debt they accrued while in office, so they need this last season to balance the books, him and his fellow members.

The total flipside of this saga is Bartomeu could actually want Messi gone as the board have 6 months left and they can, with help of Koeman sign some cheap replacements in, have a huge chunk of money cleared with Messi gone, and go out as the guy who did his best to restart the Barcelona rebuild after Messi, while balancing the books as required. Too much politics at play.

Year later a financial disaster when there is less commercial income, and the blame lays with next president. Win win for him lol
Do you really think UEFA will let Barcelona go down the plughole?

Some rule will change, they'll get money into their coffers by hook or crook. Utd and Liverpool are living on the drip and nobody at UEFA are batting an eyelid.

my first note, 14 years watching messi my heart is broken but it was a matter of when, coming to the blues with pep is like feeling the beginning of a story again, it will make it fantastic to see messi in the english football that both personally admire, see Messi is a privilege, I am Spanish who lived in Whifield (Bury) 16 years ago, my team in England in those days was Rafael's liverpool, now it's the city from the first day that Pep Guardiola arrived in the city, I hope to go very soon Let's see it live when we go to visit the family, my wife is English from bury (the shakers) what a shame many kisses we went to gigg lane, 135 years of history in the vasura we hope they solve something, well greetings to all
welcome!

There was a subsequent case at the CAS - Matuzalem which basically says that the compensation should represent the damages to the club from the contract being broken. In the case of Barca and Messi this could i suspect be huge.

That says he had 2 years left & a release clause of 25 mil, but FIFA initially set the price at 6.5 mil.

You would imagine it would be considerably less if he only had one year left & was 33 years old.

CAS increased it to 11.6m i think and it took 2 years. CAS said that you cant predict the compensation as it is the impact it will have on the "wronged" party. I suspect the commercial impact of losing Messi will not be small, certainly compared to some bloke i hadnt heard of before.

I think the conclusion basically means using Webster is a huge gamble and will take a long time to be resolved.

So hows the plane spotting going today ? Theres a Cessna citation heading north out of Ibiza mid France at the moment, or a big Bombardier G500 also heading north out of Malaga .
