Robinho was our last really high profile signing with commercial potential that went tits up. We tended to do a lot better with the likes of Aguero,Silva,Toure,Kompany KDB etc as part of the team.

Really, comparing Messi to Robinho. I think we have lived with him for so many years now his abilities, not to mention his longevity are taken for granted. They shouldn’t be he is unique, and when he goes there is I fair chance we won’t see anybody that good for a long time. Not sure why you think Pep in charge makes the outcome worse.
In terms of it going tits up then yes. Pep can only do so much, especially if his mind is not fully on things.

As I say, I am sure the club will be thinking bigger and longer picture, as oppose to spending huge on a short term gamble.
