Absolutely agree with this, I've seen this "5 year contract, 2-3 with us, then the rest somewhere within the CFG" put about, personally I'm not having that, the level Messi plays football at is incredible, in 5 years time you could probably stick him in a free role in the middle of the pitch and he'd still likely be the best player on it most games, his speed of thought, anticipation etc is phenomenal, his body will one day be a little bit too slow to keep up with that, but Ronaldo aside, Messi is still leagues above anyone else and will be for quite some time in my honest opinion !

Marv, your looking at goals as a measure of decline. Please explain:

League goals
Mbappe, 2019 - 33, 2020 - 18
Salah, 2018 - 33, 2019 - 22, 2020 - 19
Neymar, 2018 - 19, 2019 -15, 2020 -13

So all three of these are in decline as well?

I think with Merson not being part of the first cull, Sky are doing him a favour and he has got more to lose (especially with his mental state) than Thompson,Nicholas and Le Tissier. For now they are keeping him for familiarity.
