The sooner Messi goes to court the better.

He have 1 month to close this case beore the transfer window close

Sky now openly saying that Messi wants to join City. No mention of any other clubs. I am struggling to comprehend that he could play for us and he could possibly join on a free?
Yes. Me too,

Transfermkt.co.uk shows that he is in the last year of his contract now. and latest reports suggest that in the final year his release clause does not apply. I wonder then if that means he can cancel his registration by paying Barcelona the value of his remaining year? In effect a free transfer and City compensate Messi for monies 'lost'. I believe this type of deal has been done before e.g. Herrera.

Are we going to rely on twitter reports of contracts though?

The problem they face is that Khaldoon has been laying the ground work for this for 11 years.

Graham Hunter went over it really well in his interview on 9320. In 2009 the club offered Barcelona a blank cheque and Messi wasn't interested, but they kept tabs and kept in friendly contact with Jorge Messi.

In 2012 The catalans come to City and we've got people the Messi camp know well. In 2016 when he's getting done for tax evasion (unfairly in Messi's mind) we're there reminding him he's always welcome if he feels like a change.

So obviously when 2020 comes around he knows where he's going, and the decision is made long before Ed Woodward or Agnelli pick up the phone.

It's entirely possible that if not for the decade long charm offensive that Messi would not even be thinking about leaving Barcelona. City offered him an alternative to compare Barcelona to every time he was unhappy. A club where he knows and likes the people in charge, his best friend is playing next to him, the coach who shaped his career is leading him, the executives don't fuck about in political battles.
Not only do the clubs know it's bollocks, so do the press. Therein lies the problem with sports media in this country: they openly and shamelessly peddle a load of bollocks because people 'buy it.'

Scored 51 18/19. then 31 19/20 - his worst return for 12 years and he isn't getting any younger. Past records mean nothing it is the future and he is well in decline.

A 20 goal decline in a season suggests he is past his best at 33. He is currently a rat leaving a sinking ship and I would kick him as far away as I could, rather than pay his stupid wages which will rip the team apart causing long term damage.
You are either a terrible wummer or the most miserable person on the entire site

Maradona
Stoichkov
Ronaldo
cruyff
Romario
Rivaldo
Ronaldinho
Etc...

All of these before Messi stepped foot in Barcelona. Perhaps you are making the same mistake that Messi is. No one player is bigger than the club.

Messi will sign for city, but let it be known that anything short of a Champions League will be a utter failure.

Bringing Messi in to the tune of 50 million euro a season net pay will create a massive gap in the salary structure of any team.

As a Barcelona fan I can tell you that if you are looking or a leader, he ain’t it. He will no doubt bring you glorious evenings of soccer at the Etihad. I will be right there to wish the team well, but you gotta ask yourself if it’s worth bringing a guy who’s displaying the worst of examples of leadership and gratitude to a club that made him the person he is today.
Well done, you win the award for shittest post of the year (and that takes some doing!).

I think we're in the driving seat now, considering just how quiet it is. Even barty is weirdly quiet, especially considering messi didn't show up.

yep this is what's got me excited. I'm usually pessimistic with these things but the lack of the tabloid pages tells me it's on. This is the biggest sports news going and it's being brushed under the carpet. Love it
