At some point Barcelona's board have to accept that Messi does not want to play for them any more, and they have a season to prepare for.

We can all understand initial battle lines being drawn but now the generals are surveying the battlefield and they can see the balance of forces and they can see how the land lies. if barcelona want to obstruct Messi then they will just be inflicting more damage upon themselves and no custodian of the club can surely contemplate that.

Everything points to a negotiated transfer. La Liga and barcelona are not expected to like it but what else can be done. I don't see how they can accommodate Messi. I think time for increased financial terms and accommodation have gone now. Trust is lost. And deep down Barcelona probably know they need to rebuild. Better to get £100m plus and maybe a player like Garcia, or at least something.

Yes of course it is Fifa.
But Barca hold it at present, and if Fifa don't release it and as you claim messi never plays for Barca again , there is a major legal issue and City cannot be involved.
