Hire a trawler to get ya there. What; we getting up a crew to head over to Spain, are we?
two left foot CB, great!
The problem there is that an oral agreement may not cut it. Regardless of intention or original statements of desire to leave it probably comes down to when the burofax was sent. That's the point I am making, if his father/agent informed Barca in March that he would be leaving, his release from the contract should not be a major issue.
Not ideal in any scenario, Ake is a good squad upgrade , but we need a worldie alongside Laporte, and hopefully someone with serious leadership skills and pace.
If we end up with just Torres Ake and Koulibaly would anyone be happy?
The guy is on a million a week, he must have some serious lawyers on his payroll, they must have put the demand in writing! The problem there is that an oral agreement may not cut it. Dial back two weeks before any of this happened and ask the same question and most people would probably say yes. Whether or not Messi arrives shouldn't change that view IMO.
Trawler? They're for the plebs. Business class with British Airways for me.Hire a trawler to get ya there.
Good, let's hope we see them, at least he is an upgrade on Stones and Otto.Aké does have serious leadership skills and pace.
That's still a pretty good window tbh.If we end up with just Torres Ake and Koulibaly would anyone be happy?
See what I'm hoping, is that the lawyers were so rightfully confident that Messi could send the burofax off when he did that they advised him to wait and not do it until when he did so as not to rock the boat and impact their league/CL chances. If Messi really did want out I suspect applying for termination of his contract is a last resort kind of move too, which maybe explains as well why he waited. The guy is on a million a week, he must have some serious lawyers on his payroll, they must have put the demand in writing!
You're doing that classic thing of completely writing off a player's personal life.
Moving to another country where you won't speak the language, uprooting and probably unsettling your children, leaving a club you have adored and have given you so much and being in the midst of a pandemic where thousands of people are dying and with no end in sight.
There's no doubt a load of other shit going through his mind but the bloke's not a robot.
And if that's the case, they may have messed up.See what I'm hoping, is that the lawyers were so rightfully confident that Messi could send the burofax off when he did that they advised him to wait and not do it until when he did so as not to rock the boat and impact their league/CL chances. Think about it , we are not going to pay him eight million a monthThe sun are saying he’s agreed a £2.4m a week contract at city! Have they been hacked?!
But he didn’t have to say I want the free transfer clause activated and I want to go to city. He could have gone to several clubs, had we stayed banned, or even re-signed for Barca.City were under a European ban from UEFA at that time.
