3. Messi will arrive at City with his legacy fully in tact

If Messi has promised us he is free to move & truly wants to sign for us, then if Barca won't play ball he should be the one to put his money where his mouth is imo.

Worst case should be a reasonable compensation for a 33 year old with one year left on his contract who at least in spirit, had a getout clause.

If he's going to be on 50 mil per year from us, he could pay it off himself & still be on more than KDB.

I really think Messi doesn't want to go to court but will if he has to. No chance we will be made to pay the release clause, court will likely set a fair value.

Incredibly convenient for us that Ronaldo, the only player who can be compared to Messi as an asset, left Real at the exact same age for 100m euros, and he had 3 years left and no 'free' clause.

Where has this notion come from that he is no longer the player he was both on the pitch and off it.

His brand is getting bigger by the year, his stats are basically the same for the past decade. Bearing in mind the shite that Barca are putting around him, hes basically carrying the team himself.

So, projecting forward, he’ll still be brilliant in 2025? And 2030?
