Since that moment Angelino has had a very successful loan and made it into the Champions League Squad of the Season. His stock has risen. So to do a deal for 2m euros upfront and the possibility, but not guarantee, of receiving another 18m euros seems on the low side.
So that’s the issue. We should make a nice accounting profit on him, which was always the plan, but bearing in mind his rave reviews, it should have been a larger one. That’s why it’s a deal that’s being derided by many.
