Erling Haaland

His old man is on record stating his lad didn't go to United because there was uncertainty over the longevity of Solskjaer.

Alf was a guest of ours last year at the Etihad and Txiki went to Anfield to also watch him play in the Champions League game.

He preferred other options at the time and Raiola has ensured Alf and his dad will earn even more cash in the longer term.

Raiola was on the way out at United but he is now in a position of strength again because they need to renew on Pogba.

Haaland will be able to take his pick.

Would you go somewhere your best mate worked because he's there ?

Or would you decide where to work based on other things, first and foremost ?

Doesnt work like that in football however - a lot of it is based on relationships as well as other things......The only caveat to this is that I heard he actually supports Leeds!)

He would rather go to utd before us and would more likely end up at Bayern before us as well - oGS has already met with him and his reps.

We also probably would deat with Raiola which makes it even less likely to happen.

Its not impossible but its highly unlikely we will ever see him in a city shirt as much as many of us would like it to happen

Haven't you always said he would never choose city?

Most of the time football is deceptively simple. If you offer playing time, trophies and money, you get the player.

Sometimes the location matters, sometimes a personal connection matters, some times style of football matters, but 98% of the time it doesn't.

If, when Haaland moves, we are still competing for every trophy going and we cough up the same money as his other offers, he'll probably come here.

I don't quite understand throwing in the towel a year before he even moves. If he's not that excited about potentially playing for City, go sell him on it! Don't take no for an answer! We have as much to offer as any club in the world, we need a Aguero replacement, and he has some links here anyway... go make the case and try to win him over. Remember how we convinced David Silva to come? Mancini did the work:

"My agent at Valencia told me that they wanted to sign me. Roberto Mancini called me to say he wanted me to come. From December to June, he was calling me to come, maybe once a week or once every two weeks.

"I decided to come, and it was one of the best decisions that I've taken. I knew that the club was growing in that moment. They signed Robinho, Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez, and they started a good project focused on winning titles.

"Mancini told me the same, and he was right."

These types of players, at his age and especially at his position, don't come around very often. We need to at least be in the mix on it until the end.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
We should at least try to sign him.
Maybe in the past he might have not wanted to come here, but things change, look at Messi.
Even if we have to pay agents fees, he'll be a bargain.
Try City, please!

Maybe we have tried

Another reason to thank Mancini for.

We just don’t get involved in auctions for players or pay huge agent fees so there is no chance we will sign Haaland. We seem to prefer to stack the side full of £30/50 mil players then go all out for one or two.

You are right but I believe that Haaland is the best out there and if he goes to the Rags he will be like the Van Persie signing..and they will win the league. For me, he is the only player that can fill Sergio's shoes.

Haaland has achieved very little to be considered to be anyhing like as the van Persie signing. Are you fishing? Have you got a bet on this signing?

Well of course he hasn't achieved much, he's just turned 20 and hasn't had a full season in Europe yet. But what he has achieved isn't correlated with what he can achieve; the guy is something special.
