Btw the UK gov have just upped today's deaths to 27 - like they did last week from 13 to 32.

So second worst day for all settings deaths in a long time too.

All the added extra deaths are from England.

Warrington 1743 cases and pop score of 830. What was it yesterday?

We have been overtaken by a few today (3 from Greater Manchester area) so must have had a relatively good day. 13th in country now. We have had 4/5 days on a par with April and 313 cases in last 2 weeks. Two week rate is 149.4/100k. We have had less than 2000 overall so 15% in last fortnight.

Considering there are almost 7.5 million people in the North West, it's tiny really and doesn't seem to be rising massively which is surely a good thing. A lot more live in the North West than Yorkshire so when you break it down the numbers per 100k aren't much different.
That doesn't make a good story though

Patients in NW hospitals also up again today to 269. Seven days ago it was 166. Seven days before that 117.

Patients in the MIdlands up from 95 to 190 in the last 7 days. (And ventilator beds there from 13 to 25 in same seven days).

Patients in Yorkshire up from 83 to 152 in the same seven days. Though ventilators only up a couple to 18.

Patients in London up from 94 to 121 in the same seven days. And ventilated patients from 15 to 26 - incliuding 5 up in London since yesterday.

Why is this not the lead story on the news? It is a huge shift in the data in the past few days.

Probably being purposely held back.

Because most of the media are more interested in finding loopholes to break lockdown law or asking why in these unprecedented times the UK hasn’t yet removed the virus from the whole of the world i.e. the media are useless

I don't know why anyone is even quoting numbers now. We have no idea how many people have it as barely anybody can get a test.

Strange how we ran out of tests within a few of weeks of the government deciding it wasn't important to give testing figures anymore.

We haven't run out of tests, there just aren't enough for those asking for one in the places they want them.

Also the numbers are available again, yesterday there were 213173 pillar 1 and 2 tests, the last day for known capacity of pillar 1 and 2 was the 10th at 243817, so there's the problem, they've approached capacity, and they have tried to concentrate on areas where case numbers are highest, ie the northwest.

There is also a large proportion set aside for social care.

And that's obviously a good thing.

I'm not arguing by the way, just posting the facts, rather than listen to the media, it's better to actually look at the numbers, whether or not you believe them they are the facts as far as we know them, believing the twitterati/media is definitely not the way to go.

As @Healdplace keeps asking why is the rise in hospitalisation and icu not the main story now, it's a growing increase, as it appears to be in other european countries.

Really helpful, don't let him near the team

The guitarist added: "I choose not to wear one and if I get the virus it's on me, it's not on anyone else. If every other c**** wearing a mask I'm not going to catch it off them, and if I've got it then they're not going to catch it off me. I think it's a p***take. There's no need for it

And there was me thinking it was Liam who was the dickhead for all these years.....

Thats the thing to keep an eye on. I am pretty sure that with better understanding and treatments the death numbers won't be a repeat of earlier in the year ( hopefully ) but people aren't admitted to hospital and ICU because it gives doctors something to do -its a serious thing and given the reports of so called long Covid
this all needs to be kept an eye on.

The media are still to keen to report what the govt wants to tell them to - somebody needs to get Hancock off the mantra "the most tests are done 5 miles from home" and ask him why people in Essex are offered tests in Aberdeen or why people from the IoW are offered them in Plymouth. I have heard today on the radio of people reporting how they are "gaming" the system - getting a test in Aberdeen thus getting a QR code then using it to get a test in Basildon around the corner from home. Woman in Bradford tonight on the radio saying her son tested positive and then she went down with symptoms, went for a test and at 3pm was leaving and the test centre was packing up - they can't do any more because there is insufficient lab resource. Madness.

what a bell....its not a hoax or a joke and anyone who gets it off him IS ON HIM and his stupid denial shows a certain level of selfishness.

You can have a billion tests available but if they’re in the wrong places, you haven’t really got them. Not only that, but if it’s taking over 10 days to report results, what’s the point?

Somebody needs to tweet the idiot telling him the mask is not to protect him, it's everyone else, if he gets it, most of the world won't give a fuck, and how would he know if he was asymptomatic, but could be a spreader ?

A bit like rich footballers who also don't think through what they are actually doing, he's probably able to afford his own testing regime for him and his band too.

Something that doubtless would feed an ego but is it all that? If you have had it then it does help to show that. If you haven't got it then its like a car MOT - all it shows is at a given moment in time you were free of it. He could give a sample but get infected between then and the result the next day - all he has to do is walk past some knob headed musician who won't wear a mask.....
