You probably would've said at the time that Laporte was "unproven" too though? Plus, that was three years ago so you have to factor in inflation when comparing release clauses.

Absolutely not, one could see from miles away he was top quality. Not nearly as convinced with this guy.
 
He's like 6 foot and looks like he weighs 10 stone wet through. Hardly the big, dominating defender we have been missing since Vinny left. This just screams third choice signing since the other two are too expensive.

The report reads like a brief from the club.

Very specific financial figures regarding our prospective targets, particularly when we know some of these players have release clauses... and these quoted figures are below those levels.

He looked a good player in the bits I saw. Right age, right price, right side of the pitch. I think Monchi is back in Seville now, and I think Txiki gets on with him, so at least he’ll have a chat etc on the phone.

There were rumours a month ago Txiki stayed in Spain to discuss a Sevilla defender too. Least it’s some new news.
 
Some reports say his clause could be higher than €75m reported. Wonder what kind of deal we can do if possible. Not quite the Koulibaly, but imo the next best option, I would even take him over Upamecano. Not counting Gimenez because he seems unattainable, and would not want to pay more than 80m for a player who is injury prone

That's great. Had no idea how good he is in the air.
 
It's widely reported in Spain that Madrid are lining him up to be Sergio Ramos' replacement next year, so I would be pleasantly surprised if we were able to sign him.
 
Koulibally would of been signed for a short term impact, however we've left it that late he'd get no preseason now and there will be less training between games due to the schedule, no guarantee he would hava got used to the system for months

Garcia wanting out as well makes sense us going for a younger player, looks quicker than the rest too.

Honestly we just need someone in ASAP

Can definitely see Stones staying and Garcia going if we are signing a 21 year old
