It's Quiet thread 14 - 'do one' edition

It's complicated to buy when you've got the talent we already have. Just my opinion, but in a lot of positions we have so many high quality players, that I imagine it is hard to add more without selling.

Was talking to someone yesterday about the 9 position as an example. We need someone who is prepared to sit on the bench when Kun is fit, not demand to play every game, but also be better than Jesus and be even more consistent than Jesus in his goal scoring. It's just not that simple.

My worry with Auoar is simply that I don't want anyone signed in CM until it's established what Phil's role will be. For me he's an 8, and adding Torres means we will need him less in the front 3. If we're going to play Phil/KDB a lot, then we don't need another midfielder unless we're selling one IMO.
Finally some one with common sense fans have been shouting for Foden to play more he has the opportunity now especially with the mix of midfielders we have it seems a preference on players rather than what we actually need concerning our midfield to some fans.

But with a ball at his feet, a different player and proposition altogether

But we don't need Rodri to run quickly WITH the ball, he needs to run quickly to chase down/intercept.

I do agree with the OP up to a point - big players are often not be as nippy over short distances. A lot of people would have a chance against Bolt over 10m, but by the time he gets going...

Positioning? Pep values that attribute most rather than the blue arse fly approach

If Pep said in a press conference the sky is blue and grass is green, I would go and check.

Not sure about that.

For all his disdain for the media he doesn't lie. He is quite direct.

I remember the last two summer windows he said he was happy with what he has yet people still thought he was being coy and were glued to sky sports transfer deadline day.

I don't think it is a lie.
I am sure he is very happy with the squad he has, but he is not going to tell Txiki he doesn't want Koulibaly, Kounde, Messi and whoever else because he is always striving to be better.

Sure - but that's part of the solution. Much of the time, a position will be a compromise, and you can't cover everyone with just one position. Being fast and great positionally is the perfect combination. Not down on Rodri though, just a jokey comment on the OPs post about big guys being slow - Rodri has got a lot better over the course of the season.

raw
You know, I have no idea if you're agreeing or disagreeing there? :(

My previous post asked for news, so you’re the only one bitching here.
no airbags is right, half this thread is you and a couple of other posters whining and bitching about anything and everything if your not happy why don't you leave the fucking thread rather than clutter it up with your constant whining ,your becoming like a stuck record and very very boring, i don't believe in putting people on ignore, i like to see the good in everyone, but you really are getting on my tits

The ignore button has improved my enjoyment of this site vastly in the last few weeks. I seriously would recommend it.

Some of our fans have not taken the Thiago news well and them lot are also signing Diogo Jota most likely. Won't go down well as expected. Just need to be patient and focus on our own.
