If Messi’s contract is “cast iron” up, then Barcelona will lose in court.
Can Barcelona take the risk of losing the player, losing the court case and then having to pay costs.
Plus compensation for loss of earnings whilst it is dragged through the courts.

More so than an individual, but you're right to point out that it would be best avoided for sure.

Problem is, as I said, it's not entirely rational from their perspective. Bartomeu can't be seen to be cutting a deal as it'll be perceived out there as trying to save his own skin at the expense of the club (ending the debt at that end of his term). He might go down fighting rather than do the sensible thing.

Hope you and your lad are well mate? It’s been a while!

Bonucci is a leader and ideal for us as we bring through the younger centre backs. Bring him in with Koulibaly and have Ake and Stones to make up the 4
Yeah all good this end bud, things have escalated quickly since the last time we met eh? :-)

I feel sorry for the genuine Barca fans that it seems to be ending this way.

We had the honour of watching David Silva play for 10 yrs for us and it was heartbreaking watching him play his last games (especially to empty stadiums) but firstly we knew he was leaving at the start of last season so got to say a long goodbye and secondly we will get to see him one more time in his testimonial -

The Barca fans may get none of this and he has been there twice as long as David Silva was with us and achieved even more. They havent got to say good bye even though it appears the signs have been there for some time and rumours of him leaving have probably been rife there was nothing official.

As a club i dont feel sorry for them but as a group of fans I do
