I very much doubt that. More to do wit Barcelona taking the piss and our club not stooping to it. If Barcelona behaved like a proper club, and offered 30m including addons, i imagine the club would take it.

it at least brings themt ot he table and builds that possibility and relationship

as you say however - that would mean the chairman having to behave like a proper human being and thats where the issue lies!

30 M including add-ons!? Sounds difficult according to lyon's president. Depay is 25M + 5 M add on btw

“Made in Barcelona” is no different from “this means more”. Barca is a decrepit club falling apart...well whatever Suarez doesn't eat first.
 
Rate the lad, clearly Pep rates him highly, but he's just not made for Prem. Different kind of defender, I bet he will do great at Barcelona. Shame it couldn't work out.

Hes more suited for La Liga for sure but he'll be exposed by mobile forwards in the CL as he simply has no pace, especially with old team in front of him and failed Everton coach on the touchline.

We will see, La Liga does not have as much pace as Prem does, neither do Barça play that high a line, he will largely be fine because he reads the game well and can pass very well. Physicality also not on Prem level, but he will develop that as he grows older.
 
€18m is kinda bad unless there are add-ons that we don't know about, but whatever. Was hoping for at least £20m.
 
That would be very decent money for us and sheer lunacy for Barca. Why would they pay for somebody they’ve all but signed for free next summer already? The only reason for bringing him in now from a Barca perspective is if there’s a risk of him going elsewhere which seems extremely unlikely or if he can provide more value on the pitch this season than the transfer fee, which again seems unlikely. he’s not good enough right now to be starting for Barca and If he’s going straight into the Barca first team then they’ve got bigger problem than anybody thought.

No reason to believe that is true but I’d snap their hands off if it was legit.

Lol it's politics, Barto wants credit for bringing the boy he let leave in the first place back home. That's literally all there is to it, he's trying to paint this Koeman season as a rebuild that revolves around young talent.
