Whatever his height his heading stat duels are actually better than Ake, Koulibaly and Laporte. Koulibaly only won one heading duel out of six in his last match.
Personally I like what I have read about the lad, he did very well against Wolves in the final and I am looking forward to seeing how he does against Bayern on Thursday.

I watched him three times ... against Wolves, United, and Inter Milan ... and he played well , the whole Sevilla team played well ..... even Jesus Navas , our old boy!

The height on Sevilla website is incorrect and from his time at Bordeaux, he is accurately at 1.84m per transfrmarkt. Just about 6", not 5'11 and definitely not 5'8" (1.78m).

This is Kounde standing next to 1.88m Nemanja Gudelj. Now I don't care what his actual height is, but he's not exactly looking dwarfed by him, is he?

This is also a guy who had no problem dealing with Lukaku or Raul Jimenez, or Martial and Rashford, or Diego Costa last season.

He's been talking about his height since last Thursday and been slapped down several times, but then brings it up like it's a new discovery to him a few days later to reel a few more people in.

may be we value him at 1.8m
and saville value him at 1.84m

so if we can compromise 2cm then the deal should get done.

Is less green than Upamecano and has already won a medal at Sevilla. We would have to keep Stones, or less likely Otamendi alonside Kounde's signing but he has shown he can cope.

I feel the same but I think the club feels there is no good alternative available.

Just a week or two ago when KK went cold nobody could come up with good available alternatives. Now this kid comes up but he is a completely different profile. I don' think he will solve our issues immediately this year (young lad, differnt league, different style, new environment, not sure if he even speaks English, history of players taking a while to settlie in under Pep) but in a few years we have a much better asset in our hands than KK.

You can still be young and a leader, De ligt was Ajax captain in the CL at 19. He seems the best option out there?

The same did people say when Sergio Ramos signed for Real Madrid, just the same now when City land Koundé.

This guy could be one for the future but I feel what this team needs now is a modern day Andy Morrison type, or another Kompany. The problem is where are they? We need someone the opposition look at in the tunnel.and think, 'Fuck me we're going to have to fight hard to get past this monster.": A vocal and leader by example, a presence. We appear a bit fragile mentally at times, surely if this type of player is available somewhere we should pay what it takes.

It's not like there's a whole bunch of available right footed, pacey, technically excellent CB's around who're the right side of 30 and an experienced leader.

Sometimes if your first choice fails, you go to a back up. And if there's not a lot of choice, that back up isn't going to be a perfect match. So you compromise, maybe get someone equally technically good but younger, or it could have been someone older who was a short term fix etc.
