Liam Delap - Ipswich player 2024-25

It's all good, him playing a senior game, even if he doesn't take to it straight away.

It gives him the heads up, to know which of his tricks & moves are likely to work in senior football & which ones will have to go. Also limited time on the ball, turning, etc, how much body strength he needs, allsorts.

It's just great news, even if he has a stinker, he'll learn loads & be right back at it, ready for another go, if he's got anything about him.

This is how things should be.

I think Mahrez and Torres will likely start tomorrow (at least the latter), so he'll still have some quality in the forward line.

Not sure about how good he actually is based on the little amounts I've seen of him in the senior team, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Bernabe start tomorrow. I do think Ferran will get his first start.

Yeah, could see something along the lines of:

Steffen, Cancelo, Garcia, Otamendi, Ake, Doyle, Bernabe, Palmer, Mahrez, Delap, Torres

Maybe that's a bit too academy heavy but THB and Foden could also be in contention.

Foden won't be involved imho, and I'd play THB alongside Tosin (I assume he hasn't gone out on loan yet ?).

I thought Cancelo was out until after Internationals

When he played for the U21s against Mansfield he physically matched them no problem.
Just hope he plays with some senior pros to get enough service.

Heard some rumours that City think this kid is genuinely the real deal. Exciting.

I've got that same feeling about it - like something special is on the horizon with him.

The club will have to be careful how they play it with Aguero heading for the exit and Jesus well established. If he makes an impression this season and shows geniune first team promise, they'll have a big decision to make when Aguero leaves - do you sign the £100m replacement or place some trust in what we already have.

I'd like to think the club will have learnt from their mistakes by losing a player like Sancho, but my optimism in the academies intergration has faded over the last few seasons.

For now anyway, I hope he makes a big impact, such a massive opportunity for him tonight and going forward this season.
