Theory: we have been rapidly firing out bids for CBs this week to close a deal by end of week. This way everyone is focused on one final big deal next week ...

Source: hope

He may well not like it. He got us a breakthrough and a potential seat on the top table but even the Rags have won a title more recently than he did.
WTF? So he didn‘t oversee our early transition?

No wonder we have no history when some of our own fans think football started in 2016.

I suggest you try to read more carefully & not infer things people haven’t stated.

Apologies if you thought I’d suggested our history started in 2016. My bad, it clearly started much earlier than that in 2009.

Another newbie who say bad things about the club/ managers
Another newbie? Really? I’ve been supporting this club longer than you’ve been alive I’d expect.

But, I’m sorry if I’ve not got the requisite number of Bluemoon posts or history on here. I mean that’d make me inauthentic and lacking in credible observations wouldn’t it?

tbh your comment is the type of “supporter exceptionalism” you’d usually get from Rags or Dippers.

We're not signing Messi, stop with that.
I dont think we will, but never say never his attitude has been the same from his intention to leave if not city then some other club,I reckon he will definitely go by this window or sign a pre contract in january with some club be it us or another ..

we don’t know all the detail and there’s a few days to go but this seems to have been our most chaotic transfer window for some time. Thrashing around, switching targets... most unlike us.

I’ve re-read it and it still says:
ffs I state 2011 as a breakthrough. Got that? Mancini manager wins an FA Cup and a title then fucks up and gets fired. Pellegrini wins a title and 2 league cups but regresses the squad and results.

Pep comes in and has a poor 1st season because his squad is broken. We then secure 5 out of 6 domestic trophies across 2 seasons. 198 points. Unparalleled.

I made my initial comments to an OP talking about why we haven’t attracted various players who have preferred other clubs and several players who came here because of Pep.

I say football mad kids are going to be looking at Foden, Doyle & Delap and thinking that can be me. That’s the end game 5 years from now when the world’s most talented teenager wants to play for City.

At the moment I’m not sure we’re part of that conversation & be that destination. With another 5 years of progression we might be the 1st preference.

That’s what I said.

I get your original point. It takes a long time to change the culture. In 10-15 years time when you get the players that grew up supporting or admiring City, it'll really make a big difference. As far as they'll be concerned we'd be 'historic'.

We don't have space in foreign quota to sign another player from overseas, it's why getting rid of Otamendi is crucial in any deal, and seems it's rather easy here so Txiki and co have taken it up right away as the window closes soon.

Or maybe we haven’t. Maybe we have lit a torch under a few of the top targets to see where we can get the best value for our 60 or 65 mil. Makes sense to me. These lads Koulibaly Kounde Diaz Giminiz are the top bracket with maybe Upamencano and a few others.

it’s seems all the other clubs are drumming up the news on this. City have said very little.

Ultimately we need to protect the back four with legs and stop playing on the half way line. If not we will just see counter after counter kill us even if we buy and play all 5 of the cbs
