Leicester City (H) Post Match Thread

who does the buying is it pep. because we have spent a fortune on lemons. and we will be lucky to get anything for them .

Mendy looked very good at Monaco and in his first few games in the side. Tbf he has had 2 major knee injuries. It's hard enough after 1. Always been hopeful that he could get back to form but I just dont see it.

I don’t care what anyone says, we’ve done some good business under Txiki; Kev, Ederson, Sterling. However, we made absolutely world class acquisitions with Garry Cook. I’d have him back tomorrow. Zaba, Kompany, Yaya, Aguero, Tevez. Welcoming Aguero in to the City offices by saying ‘welcome brother’ the man is an absolute legend and the best back room official we’ve ever had.

Edit; Cook also signed Silva.
yep

Painful display yesterday but with Dias joining us and Laporte getting back to fitness, we won’t see many more of those games. I have a good feeling going forward but LB needs sorting no doubt.

Nope, as soon as Fernandinho went off Rodri could show off his turning speed of the Titanic, need a good midfielder to break up play, Rodri's in my not good enough pile now with Gundogan and Garcia who wants to leave us!!!! (how does he get games).

He was worth it then but he’s worth a crap ton more now. Unlike John Stones. And the trophies he played a huge role in delivering are undoubtedly worth a further crap ton in sponsorship deals.

Given the crap ton we have wasted on players like Mendy, Stones, Mahrez, Rodri etc etc etc in the last few years, I’d swap the lot of them for a Tardis.

No guarantees he could of had the same impact

The drop in Mendy's pace has been alarming so far to me. I noticed it against Wolves when he really struggled to keep up with one of their attacking wingers (possibly Traore). It happened again yesterday too.

I think we need both a defensive midfielder and a leftback. I had to check the highlights from the Leicester game and Mendys awareness is shockingly bad.

I’ve wanted him to work so bad but his injuries have ruined his ability. I’m not sure he’ll ever come back.

Could we see Pep resign? Not just on footballing grounds as something is obviously going on personally. Football is nothing compared to someones mental health and well being and I am now worried for Pep. Does anyone have experience in mental health as for me he seems to be showing red flags for depression etc.
Nothing like the pep who did that Amazon thing, no spark in him at all.

cant really judge any fullbacks pace with traore, hes probably the fastest player ever , well nearly :)

Mahrez isn't as good now as he was at Leicester, but that can be said of a few players here now.
i havn't seen massive progression in Mendy or Bernardo. Jesus seems the same player we had 3 yrs ago, and i thought he would come on more with age. Walker is steady, Stones has gone backwards and i'll be gutted if Rodri can't raise his game more than what iv seen so far. Compare all this with our team of yesteryear of Yaya, vinny silva zabba Kun (i know hes still here) and Dzeko. I know the game is changing all the time (and not for the better) but you can see the difference between then and now, no warriors, leaders or battlers. We need the team to have a spine again

Mendy was quick pre injury mate. I can't even remember if it was Traore tbh honest, I just remember him really stuggling to keep up and that wasn't him. Injuries have taken their toll sadly, it appears.

Tough situation here. Pep does not want to change his philosophy which is fine. He may have to tweak it if he wants to continue with us. Game management needs to change. At certain times we tire and standards drop. That is the time to drop the high line and stay compact while trying a counter attack.

I dont know if this is possible or not, switch tactic during the game. Soak up pressure and break. Once the dodgy 10-15 min period is over we go again.

Think of the Spartans close up shop and wait for them to come to us. If they stay deep pass pass pass until one of them losses discipline.

Agree. More and more teams setting themselves up to counter attack with pace. Leicester are just one example in a succession of teams who have risked soaking up City's pressure and then really having a go when they get the ball in or on the edge of our half. The teams with quality in their attack have really hurt us last season and on this evidence will continue to do so this season. Hopefully Dias will help but we look so short up front at the moment.

Found this thread on Twitter really interesting. Breaks down the tactics in good detail and highlights issues we have.
