My phone keeps telling me that my Covid app is draining my battery and invites me to 'fix it' by pressing a button but says nothing about starting up again either automatically or by myself when l leave the house.
Can any one help please?

Its not really is it ? The professional teams have to stick to guidelines that just are not possible with 22 lads running around a park. its called a common sense approach. Somethings have to give, unless you suggest they do nothing. What would your solution to this issue be ?
What fucking guidelines? Wearing a mask sat in a stand but all hugging and high diving during the game? Sweating and coughing on each other during it. A back room team of dozens also involved where as lads in the park is just them. Won’t stop it due to loss of revenue that’s why.

Anywhere that a group of people can congregate indoors is clear and obvious issue. Its bound to happen in the UK very soon. As much as people say there is no evidence this comes from the hospitality sector, thats just not true. Its any indoor activity at all. The pub is the most non essential therefore should prob be the first closed, since Schools and university are far more of a priority.
I would disagree schools and universities are a priority

First of all, the professional band are supposed to be living in the "football Bubble" where they have regular tests and as people who do not need to take public transport, or go to a day job, this should be enough to be as safe as possible. Unlike 22 people who haven't followed any kind of shielding. I mean its a simple but effective theory, but its way safer than allowing hundreds of games and mixing every week. No mad tin foil theory behind it.

As for education not being as important as going for a pint ? well im not sure where to start on that. Send all the kids home ? thats not going to damage the economy at all

We're going to completely destroy the country. Once the hospitality sector closes, most of it won't be reopening again. Just like the initial lockdown, this won't be a 2/3 week thing. Case numbers and deaths will only increase as we do further testing and get deeper into winter, so if the current numbers are enough to close pubs and restaurants then they'll be shut until Spring, if not forever.

Greater Manchester has been under local restrictions since July and they've done absolutely nothing to stop the spread. The more places we close, the more people will just socialise at each other's houses. The people who are actually following the current guidance are very much in the minority.

It's gotten to that stage where it's either a full national lockdown being reintroduced, furlough scheme and all, or just keep everything open and carry on. Because half-measures/regional restrictions/new guidance etc are just going to be completely ignored as people grow more and more tired of the whole situation.

We are doing a halfway house fiddling about approach, it’s going to be a long winter.

Might be time for me to veer off this thread for a while.
I've been hanging on this year anyway, cognisant I have to remain in positives spirits.
This applies to lots of course, but with a bit of a backlog of personal stuff CV19 has really well and truly smashed the back doors in on ones well being.
I've changed a fair bit over the past year or two (and have posted about this) and I sometimes allow a pat on my back for remaining strong (and everything has emboldened my resolve) but there are moments when it feels exhausting.

Trouble is there's literally no public figure, govt figure or scientist to look up to and feel secure about the future.
At the moment the wheels look like they're literally about to fall off.

Totally agree

England hospital patients up 161 in day to 2944

England ventilator patients up in the day by 27 to 376. That is the highest daily rise in months.

They ain’t getting much in the way of education though are they, I am in a position where I see people’s behaviour everyday and the affect on schools. Kids have been going in then getting calls telling them to isolate on the way to school , or the whole year should stay at home.
They pile on buses with masks until it sets off and then they take them off and do what kids do. Uni students paying for half an education.

Education is fucked suspend it for a year. If we are happy for it to spread then let parents decide if they should go to school. Use the time for catching up and outdoor sports.

Pensioners travel around for the sake of it, they wander on without masks then put them on during the trip. Half of them not covering their noses, they sit right next to each other meanwhile asthma family and neighbours happily breath over everyone.

The answer to this? Stop a couple sitting on a table in a pub, put people out of work and close business down. Magic.

Where have I said anything about education???
As for the first part of your reply, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and a few others say hello.

It sure is.

I don't think they consider the knock on effect in any of their decision making. Winter is a more depressing time of year, yet they're creating a situation where an entire industry is out of work, while others are supposed to work but with no reward at the end of the week as they can't do anything. As stress levels increase it'll just result in people visiting family/friends at home for food/drinks which completely defeats the object.
